The first time you complete the Strength Challenge you receive the Jousting Armour card.
*Some people are not receiving the Jousting armour until they earn a Gold on the challenge. I thought I received mine with a silver but that may have been patched out or I may have misremembered. If you don't receive the Jousting Armour on your first completion then go for a gold on this challenge to earn it. Thanks for the guys who pointed this out!*
If you have the card in your Equipment deck while redoing this trial it opens a second series of upgrades with the blacksmith for this armour. You cannot upgrade any other item so give him the Jousting Armour at the first opportunity. You do not need to have picked up the card from your equipment deck, you just need it in the deck when you start the Challenge.
Doing this upgrade will not allow you to upgrade any other equipment so you will not have the chance to complete the optional. I received the Jousting Armour my first time completing the challenge. I only received silver not gold on it. Anyone else finding they didn't get the Jousting Armour card without the gold?

I completed silver and did NOT get the jousting armor card. So this may need gold to acquire.
