Complete all Explorer's Gift encounters.
Explorer's Gift encounter cards are automatically added to your deck when you play on Explorer Fate. Like most encounter cards in the game, you must complete one to unlock the next in the series. You will not need to customize your deck to include these cards, as playing your next session on Explorer's Gift will include the newly unlocked one. The quickest way to get your Explorer encounter cards done with is to play Jack of Dust or Jack of Scales a few times in a row.
There are 3 Explorer's Gift encounters and they are fairly simple.
The first one is completed by paying 40 gold and some commenters have reported a combat encounter too.
The second requires progress on a naval journey (Choose Sail around Storm, Ignore Them, Discuss the Island with your Crew. There are other ways to make progress, giving gold, other choices that have a smaller chance of success, etc... but if you choose these, you will only need to pass 2 50/50 challenges to complete it). If you have food and gold, it has been reported that you can skip two of the chance encounters. Giving them 10 food for the second portion, and the third portion by giving them 25 gold.
