How to unlock the Innate Guerilla Warfare achievement in Hard Corps: Uprising - Definitive Guide

You need to go through all of arcade mode without killing 50 of the little guys with pointy hats. They tend to run at you at the bottom of the screen or fire standard bullets. On single player mode, you will have to dodge past most of them (Run at them and press B).

In addition, if you fail a level and have to use a checkpoint, any of the privates you killed will still count against your final total. It's best to not kill any at all if it can be helped.

An easier alternative is to find another skilled player and run through Multiplayer Arcade mode. Simply let them dispatch all the foes and assist him on bosses. This is confirmed to work by myself and TheEpicPandemic. Make sure that you are ALIVE at the end of the game or you may not get credit for this achievement.

Once you have the achievement, play nice and help your partner out by killing everything for him in another playthrough!

Best of luck to you all. If this guide does not work, please leave constructive feedback so I may update it.

Can you kill other kind of enemies than the "little privates"? Even the fat ones ?

I am pretty sure you can. When I went for this, I looked at the picture on the achievement as a basis for what a private was.

Keep in mind that on Stage 7 you MAY have to kill a few privates to proceed in the first elevator shaft. Make sure you get to a checkpoint after that though because the game counts total private kills, across any continues you take.

As for other enemies, yeah that won't be a problem. Just watch out for the privates. The game likes to put them in really akward places, and if it does prove too difficult, there is no shame in doing it in Multiplayer mode.

I got the achievement this way with my friend darkling! Will return the favor tomorrow. Great guide. I was so paranoid that I barely killed any enemies. lol

Again, privates are the standard enemies you come across that run in from the left and right of the screen. Essentially you need to avoid them as much as you can. You can typically jump over them or maneuver under them with obstacles. The biggest thing to remember is to move forward. Eventually they will disappear or you'll outrun them.

Oh joy. One of these achievements. There's no two ways about it; complete Arcade Mode without killing more than 50 Privates! What are Privates, exactly? Well...

Yet again the achievement's icon is the giveaway here. Privates are the grunts of the Commonwealth and are one of the more common enemies of the game. They have a few different behaviours or appearances:

  • In some levels you will find them just standing in place on a platform taking shots at you as you go by.
  • In some levels they will run at you from either side of the screen; from the right side as a scripted spawn, or from the left side, coming up behind you if you're moving through a level too slowly.
  • In levels 1, 2, 7 and 8, a few spawn with paper umbrella contraptions and float down from the top of the screen before dropping down to run at you.
  • They also appear as security guards in the fifth level, but thankfully you're meant to Solid Snake your way past most of them.
  • You'll occasionally see Privates dying from environmental hazards such as sinking in quicksand or being swallowed by cyber-gators, but these don't count against you.
  • Similarly, in the lobby of level seven, they crash through the windows on motorcycles and drive from the left, ramp over a crashed police car and presumably explode somewhere off-screen. Just jump over them and let nature take its course.
  • Personally, I'd avoid killing the 3D turrets that, if you look closely, are controlled by a Private, but I doubt that those actually count.

The biggest choke-point I can think of is when they appear several times on the trains in level six. Unless they fall off or get killed by exploding train cars, you'll have to use some of your "buffer" on them.
Also, thanks to cra for confirming that you *have* to kill the 4 Privates guarding the motorcycle in stage 1.

The privates are skinny soldiers in caps. they run out at you at the beginning of the first level.

The whole difficulty of achieving this is that they are EVERYWHERE!

There are two ways to get this achievement.

1) you run through the levels, dash and jump over everyone and everything.

if you killed 5 privates, and then died yourself, started from the same place and killed the same privates again, then congratulations, you already have 10 on your account. Each killed goes to the counter, and it doesn’t matter how many times you run through the same place. In such a situation, it is better to try not to kill anyone at all.

I advise you to especially train at level 7 in risen fashion. remember the location of the checkpoints, because while going up the elevator and along the shaft you kill about 15 privates, and before reaching the checkpoint you die. start over and feel free to multiply 15 by 2 =)

2) you need a second player. start the game together, the one who craves the achievement dies in the first level, and the second player plays further. You will wake up at the last boss, jump on the helicopter and the achievement will be in your pocket. simple, but not fair)
