When starting a new game, you'll be given the choice of Movie Mode or Custom Mode. Select Custom Mode and then scan your face when the screen prompts you too.
Or, if you choose Movie Mode, you can pop this achievement after completing all Year 1 activities by selecting Polyjuice Potion while in Professor Dumbledore's office and then selecting Custom Character from the selection screen.

whenever I am playing with this game I still can't believe how terrible is this scanning in the game. Makes creepers from everyone
