I’m pretty sure part of what makes you fall is not going quick enough. I finally got to the top by cutting corners towards the top which saves time.

Video in the other guide. I was having problems too and I bet others are falling off at the same point I was. Watch around the 38 second mark in the video, there is a sharp left and it also goes up, up until this point you can take the corners very wide and even cut them but at this point you have to stick the line like glue otherwise you won't get the height increase and fall.

There are a few trails that lead up the mountain but only take you so far. There is only one that takes you to the top. The one you need is to the right of the stone arch that is to your left when you enter the zone from the West entrance.

This may be a dumb question but what is right or down from the ship?

Adding on to Calex's comment and ISam's video, for anyone who keeps getting almost to the top but then randomly falling at that final part, here's the solution:

Okay, like Calex said, skip to 0:38 in that video. Notice how Kay/Yu (doesn't matter who you do it as) takes a sharp right, then a sharp left, and then it's a sharp right. But i bet, like me, you kept falling before you could do that final right.

What i found is that, for the first sharp right and then the second sharp left, stick as close to the line as possible. Then, for the final turn, a sharp right, cut the corner just a bit. Don't try to follow the line precisely: Instead, try to stay slightly to the right of the line. I don't know why, but that worked in the video and it worked for me too.

So: sharp right, sharp left, stick to the line. Final sharp right, cut it a bit, staying slightly to the right of the flow. You'll get it.

And to debunk: no, which character you do it as does not impact your chances. And no, going faster or slower during the trail won't affect your chances either (so long as you don't fall off course, duh).
