How to unlock the When Doves Cry achievement in Headbangers: Rhythm Royale - Definitive Guide
Hello, below I will list all requirements, the round each minigame is in, advice if applicable, and will denote if there is a stricter challenge on the final card. A lot of these challenges are very difficult and since the game selection is RNG it makes it even harder.
NOTE: if you want to boost with someone or get matched against bots, then select Asia as your region and turn off crossplay.
1. Win 10 tournaments - self explanatory.
2. Play 100 games - just entering into round 1 counts for this, so just keep playing.
3. Unlock 8 full costumes - you will earn some via the battle pass and you can buy some in the shop for crumbs as well.
4. Achieve a score of 44000 in Run Pigeon Run - this is a round 1 minigame where you just have to press A and X to the beat similar to Guitar Hero. 44000 is pretty easy as long as you have a decent combo. Note some of the levels have more notes so keep that in mind and a later card requires a perfect run which almost guarantees this score.
5. Achieve a score of 60 in Glottissimo - this is a round 3 minigame where you match the conductors pitch sequence using A, X, and Y. One thing to note is you can press the buttons as fast as you can, you do not need to go the same speed as the conductor. This will help get many more rounds in and since this is an easy minigame overall this is not too bad. A later card requires a score of 65 which you will absolutely have to utilize this strategy to achieve this. Another card requires a perfect game with no mistakes (hard to cheese since this is a late round minigame so better players), and another card has one of the worst challenges in the game which is to perfectly replicate an 8 round sequence (requires, Skill, luck, and RNG).
6. Perform 40 perfect notes during a game of After Party - this is a round 4 minigame that is the exact same as Garden Party but with only 1 life. This is pretty difficult as once the vertical bar disappears it is hard to time perfectly, plus you have to stay alive as long as possible and so do your other contestants. My suggestion is the bot method for this as they stay alive for an absurd amount of time so you at least will have a ton of notes to hit if you manage to stay alive. I was able to get 76 playing against bots.
7. Achieve a score of 200 in Guilty - this is a round 1 game. You have to choose the pigeon dressed per the music, with the first four rounds being singular genres, and the last four being a mashup of 2. You get 1 point for every pigeon you are faster than, including yourself, so you need to average 25 points per round (6th place each round). This is not too bad if you at least get all 8 correct and are somewhat quick, and other challenge cards require a whopping 220 points and a perfect round. Note there is a bonus that adds points to your score if you manage to grab it.
8. Get an average response time of 0.440s or less in Faster Than Sound - this is a round 2 minigame where you 1v1 another player where you press A as soon as you hear the sound pictured before each round. The unfortunate thing with this game is if you are too soon or too late on any of the 7 rounds it will destroy your time, so you pretty much have to answer every round timely. As far as I know you cannot cheese this one like you can with Yes Commander and Oui Votre Majeste. GrowShah mentioned in the comments that if you get match up against another player that quits, it will give you your average to that point. For instance, if you average 0.40 in round 1 and 0.46 in round 2 and then the player quits, the game will give you your 0.43 average. EDIT: this was the last challenge for me, and what I did was set my latency to 40ms (which is the max), and I believe it essentially gave me a time delay of 40ms each round, which means I only really needed 0.480s in real time to grab this. It's a small difference but worked literally first time I tried this (was on xbox, and using headphones, with one bonus). Other suggestions I heard was try this on PC as the latency is microseconds quicker depending on your setup and monitor. The ideal strat would be to lobby up in an Asia region with no crossplay and one of your friends, set latency to 40ms, run the game on your PC, wear headphones, answer the first round as quickly as possible and then have your friend quit the game. Obviously this is a lot of setup and requires RNG and another player but more or less guarantees it once you load into the minigame.
9. Achieve an average score of 90% in The Battle Box - This is a round 3 minigame where you 1v1 another player to better replicate the sequence from the emcee. 90% is pretty manageable, but the last two rounds can get pretty tricky if you lose track. One of the items adds 20% to your score so that will help your overall precision towards the end. GrowShah mentioned in the comments the same tactic for Faster than Sound applies here if the other player quits, it will take you average for whatever rounds you complete.
10. Achieve a score of 1450 in The Perfect Shot - this is a round 3 minigame where you have to frame the dolphin in the sun. Note that perfect shots are worth 120 and everything else is worth below 100 points. One of the items grants full visibility as well so try to grab items as you can which helps tremendously with perfect shots. Just get as many perfect shots as you can and you will get this in a few attempts.
11. Perform 150 Perfect notes during a game of Run Pigeon Run 2 - this is a round 4 minigame where you just have to press A and X to the beat similar to Guitar Hero. Most of the songs are around 1.5-2 minutes long so just stay alive and you will get this most likely. Only issue is you have 1 heart, so I would just focus on hitting the notes and I ignored the items flying as it tended to throw off my timing. A later card requires hitting every note which would just about grant this challenge automatically.
12. Perform 6 Sequences without errors in To The Sky - this is a round 3 minigame where you match the notes and press A and X to the beat/lyrics. You only need to get 6 of the ~15 sequences without mistakes which is not too bad.
13. Earn 30000 crumbs in bonus rounds - self explanatory.
14. Achieve the 1st place in a bonus round 5 times - self explanatory.
15. Achieve a score of 23 in Guess it - this is a round 1 minigame where you marry up the sounds to the instruments. What I have done to get this is go as fast as you can even if you miss some and just brute force your way through. Another challenge is to not miss any so I suggest doing this one separately. Chris0811 figure out a way to boost this with a partner: "Go into it with a partner. Partner can guess whatever they want as fast as they want and tell you what directions the correct choices are. So they just say top, left, bottom, right, top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right." Doing it this way can get you 30 or more points, and could also help with the not missing a guess challenge.
You play just behind their pace and enter the correct choices. My group had a couple of us get over 30 pts. Easy peasy.
16. Perform a 100 note combo in Run Pigeon Run - this is a round 1 minigame. A 100 notes combo should come naturally as there are about 200-250 notes per level. Just keep at this one.
17. Achieve a score of 58 in First Piano Shooter - this is a round 2 minigame. This one is pretty difficult, as you have to be pretty accurate and very fast. I would prioritize the accuracy only because you get one extra point per round for hitting all the correct keys.
18. Qualify without making any mistakes in First Piano Shooter - this is a round 2 minigame. This is not too hard, just take your time and hit all the notes. As long as you get around 40 or so you should qualify.
19. Hit all the balls during a game of Super Striker - this is a round 2 minigame. This can be tough but if you just focus on the sounds and make sure you only swing on the last note of the sequence you will get this with practice. If you swing too early on the slow ones and still hit the ball it will void this challenge as this happened to me. F3N0M4RK mentioned that if you hit the first ball and let it sit the remainder of the game it will count towards the challenge. Others have confirmed this so if you are struggling try this cheese method.
20. Achieve a score of 1450 in Stereo Ga Ga - this is a round 2 minigame where you hit A, X, or B the amount of times that respective pigeon makes a sound. A score of 1450 is not too bad to get after your first few attempts, and another card requires one of the 3-pigeon sequences of 100%. You do not have to be perfect during the 7 or 8 rounds, just get the early rounds and keep close on the harder sequences.
21. Qualify without making any mistakes Glottissimo - this is a round 3 minigame. Most of these sequences are very easy. If you manage to get to a harder sequence and you have a score over 40, you can probably let it sit and still qualify.
22. Achieve a score of 110 in The Stunt Moles - this is a round 3 minigame where you memorize the beat of the whack-a-moles and replicate it. 110 is not too terrible, just try to get perfect hits and if you do not remember the full sequence it is better to just not hit anything as each miss subtracts your score by 1. Since 110 is pretty high, this limits the amount of misses and no-hits you get.
23. Don't lose any hearts for 1 minute and 30 seconds in Run Pigeon Run 2 - this is a round 4 minigame where you just have to press A and X to the beat similar to Guitar Hero. Most of the songs are around 1.5-2 minutes long so just stay alive and you will get this. Only issue is you have 1 heart, so I would just focus on hitting the notes and I ignored the items flying as it tended to throw off my timing. A later card requires hitting every notes which would grant this challenge automatically.
24. Perform 15 perfect notes in a row in The Final Ride - this is a round 4 minigame. This may come naturally but is very difficult to actually try for. The starting two sequences are only two notes on repeat, and are somewhat lengthy so if you get a rhythm down this will be your best chance. Otherwise, just keep at it and you will eventually get it.
NOTE: if you want to boost with someone or get matched against bots, then select Asia as your region and turn off crossplay.
1. Win 10 tournaments - self explanatory.
2. Play 100 games - just entering into round 1 counts for this, so just keep playing.

For the 90% in The Battle Box, if you have a friend going against you and you get over 90% on the first turn, they can back out and it will give you the challenge for 90% average.
Supposedly same thing with the 0.440 challenge in Faster Than Sound, but I haven't had the chance to test it.

The cat does not sound at all like a cat in "Faster Than Sound." It sounds more like a whimpering dog, or a creaking door.

For the 90% in The Battle Box, if you have a friend going against you and you get over 90% on the first turn, they can back out and it will give you the challenge for 90% average.
Supposedly same thing with the 0.440 challenge in Faster Than Sound, but I haven't had the chance to test it.
