How to unlock the Excellent Choice Sir! achievement in Hell Let Loose - Definitive Guide
Well, I did this not as the solution above, which is quicker method, but as a Support soldier (don't know how is called in english this category), I dropped every 5 minutes a box and the track progressed faster than I thought. I guess aren't 5K supplies but 100 or something.
This trophy is titled "Excellent Choice Sir!" and requires you to drop 5000 Supplies.
Supplies can be dropped from three different sources.
- Supply Crate (50 Supplies)
- Commander Supply Drop (100 Supplies)
- Supply Truck Crate (150 Supplies. Two crates per truck.)
Supply Crate:
In order to drop Supply Crates, you must be playing as a Support in an Infantry Unit. This is the only unit capable of deploying Supply Crates. Once you spawn, switch to the Supply Crate with R1 or Up & Down on the control pad. Press L2 to bring up the deploy reticule when the crate is in-hand. Move the gray box around until it turns green and then hold down R2 to deploy the Supply Crate. Once deployed, you will have a five minute cool down before you are able to deploy another. However, if you're within the area of a Manpower Resource Node (Boot Icon within a yellow circle), it cuts the time in half to about two and a half (2 1/2) minutes from five (5).
Commander Supply Drop:
I'll have to add this information the next time I play Commander, but there's controls to bring up the Commander abilities. You would select the options for the Supply Drop, choose the point on the map, and drop the supplies for the team.
Supply Truck Crate:
Once a match begins, Supply Trucks will spawn at the HQ's. Hop into the driver's seat, turn on the truck, and then press R1 to drop a Supply Crate out the back. These do not respawn once dropped unless you travel back to an HQ and go under the Ammo Depot. You could do this right at HQ, but that is a bit of a waste. Drive toward objectives and drop them behind buildings or bushes. Be useful with them as it's 150 Supplies for the team. That can really help get Garrisons and other items up and running.
Once you drop the 5,000 supply, the trophy will unlock.

Update: You can now select which region you want to play on. That means you can try playing on dead servers in East Asia or Australia.
Original: The best way to do this is with the supply truck, it has 2 supply crates, both of which are worth 150 supplies for a total of 300. The Support class can also drop 50 what seems like every few minutes. Supply trucks are spawned in by a Commander and can be resupplied back at your HQ by driving near a loading crane.
My recommendation is to just play the game, instead of dumping it randomly and resupplying. You're going to be playing for quite a while if you plan to 100% and will easily surpass the amount needed for the achievement. You'll also need to level up the Support class to level 8 as it is, and the best way to do that is to delivery supplies and help build structures.
If want you can find an empty server and spawn as commander, this way you can dump all the supplies you'd like. But as a said I recommend you just play normally.

Quick tip!
Omaha Beach play as Americans, choose middle spawn in the water. There's a supply truck with a resupply station just in front on the beach (by the artillery). At the moment there's a bug (as of 27/03/2024 unpatched) where you can just dump the supply crates right next to the resupply station and the truck will restock without you having to drive to/from the battlefield.
Not ideal for teamwork so please try to avoid doing this on a populated server. We had a right eejit on our team who kept taking the supply truck and they proceed to fill up the entire beach with supply crates.

I tried @i am dabe 's solution and unfortunately it doesn't seem to work, unless I'm doing something wrong. It won't let me drop supplies unless I'm at least two squares from the HQ, no matter where I go.

The easiest, but longest way is to select the “support” class and drop supplies or drop supplies from a truck, which is delivered to the base by the team commander.
