How to unlock the This Is a Flammenwerfer, It Werfs Flammen achievement in Hell Let Loose - Definitive Guide
The Flamethrower is a unique weapon only available to the support role of the German, American & British factions.
To unlock the ability to use the Flamethrower you need to level up the Support role to level 8.
This requires a total of 91,000 experience in support
Each level up of a role increases the exp. required to the next level by 4000.
Breakdown of Class exp.
Levelling up roles through natural play is a slow process that will take a lot of time to progress in.
A easy method to help speed this up is starting as an engineer and building all 3 nodes, then switching back to support.
This will give you an extra 10 xp per node, per minute that they are active. It doesn't sound like much but if you can keep them up for an hour, this will give you an extra 1800 xp a match.
Once you've reached level 8 in support you can customise and change the loadout to the Flamethrower. Simply kill 100 other players to unlock this achievement.

This resets to zero too when you leave the server? Because this happens with 100 headshot, 100 artillery and drop boxes achievements, as well as the other achievements of progression to play 5 times in X map.

The only way to do this without playing a million matches is to build the Engineer nodes first before you switch to Support. I did it in conjunction with building 100 of each node and hit lv 8 Support at a very similar time to completing all 100 of each node. +1 for the info

The flamethrower can be taken from the "Support" class if you upgrade it to level 8.
To level up this class faster, you can take the “Engineer” class at the very beginning of the battle and build supply points somewhere inaccessible to enemies, which will give you additional support points on the map throughout the game. After construction, change the class to “Support” and play until the end of the game, not forgetting to lay out boxes with resources, for which they also give points. The number of kills, if it affects class leveling, is insignificant.
You can level up much faster if you play with a friend. You need any mode except "War" so that you can drop boxes of supplies from a truck right at the base. As a support, ride around in circles, refueling with supply boxes and dropping them not too far away. Your friend, playing as an officer, must build garrisons using these boxes and immediately dismantle them. In an hour you can earn approximately 20,000 support points.

I will describe in more detail the tip above on how to quickly increase any fighter class.
We will need:
1) game mode "Offensive" (you must play for the defending team);
2) a faithful partner, with a strong psyche.
As soon as you find a suitable game mode, your partner creates an infantry squad, becoming an officer. You can join any squad, choosing the fighter class necessary for leveling up, in our case “Support”, to open a flamethrower.
Your task is to get a supply truck for use, after that we begin to drop supply boxes next to the ammunition depot (replenishment) so as not to travel far (Note: Supply drops will only be available at two of the three headquarters (starting spawn points), the blocked one will be located next to point that will need to be protected).
Next to these boxes, your partner begins to build a garrison (namely a garrison!, not an outpost) and immediately destroy it. Built, destroyed, built, destroyed, etc.
We will definitely finish this game and gain a lot of experience.
