How to unlock the Human Superiority achievement in Hexic 2 - Definitive Guide

If you need help with this one, keep making combos like crazy. Don´t ever stop to think, if you aren´t going to get a pearl or something better really fast. Explode all pieces you can, and launch every power-up as soon as it comes, so you stop as much as possible the AI.

One helpful tip is to save green power (the one where you steal some space from your enemy). Then, once you use it, explode as fast as you can every special piece it has. This way, you can steal lots of points that can give you the victory.

Just try to be as faster as possible, if you keep making combos and launching attacks to your enemy, you should achieve this after a few tries, not that hard after all...

This is just crazy. Closest I've got is still having 2 refills left, don't know if I'll ever manage this one!

Keep trying, and focus on using the green power. You must keep doing combos at the highest rate you can. Don´t lose even 2 seconds on thinking anything if you aren´t 100% sure you´ll make a star or something better. Launch every power you get to the CPU except the green one. You need that one to steal his good pieces (do it everytime you can and explode them).

Actually, you don´t need to play good. You need to play really fast. If the CPU doesn´t make too many good pieces and you keep making combos fastly, you´ll eventually win.

Well i did it in the end. I just tried to match as many straight lines as possible, matching 3 Emeralds (the "2 piece changers") gives you a good boost.

I only won because I manged to hit the AI with a couple of bombs, then match 3 Starflowers (gives you a massive boost). It was close, but persistence pays off!

I've beaten the computer twice now, and neither time I have gotten the achievement. Has this ever not unlocked for anyone else?

I think I´ve heard it before, although I´m not sure. Just keep trying and be sure you are on the correct difficulty setting... Not much else to do.

You people must be on a greater level of existence than me because I can't see it being possible to make combos fast enough for this to be possible.

This achievement seemed to me like a luck-based fiasco. After something like 70 tries, I finally managed to win, and just barely. Sometimes, the CPU just starts the game with stars and emeralds out of nowhere, leaving you no room to recover.
First off, bombs make of break a game. Try to use them as frequently as possible, because they are your only hope of easily getting enough energy to be on par with the AI.
The D-Pad, unfortunately, is too slow to ever be able to make combos on the level this achievemnt requires, so keep this in mind.

After much dedication, you will get this achievement

There is a lot of luck involved with this one. Most people will fail at this 1/100 times. The game is built that way to prey on the below average puzzle gamers. Which most of us are.

1/25 times the CPU will create an opportunity to possibly win
1/25 you’ll get lucky to have the correct drops to diffuse the bombs
1/25 you’ll actually have the skills needed to win
1/25 times you’ll actually get in position to create a few stars without even trying

With all these combinations of lucky factors prey for a lucky charm to be up your ass by the developers of this game. Good luck and don’t break anything while suffering through this

What the hell is even this? The AI makes pieces like it's nothing because it gets the better hand by default and even if you are way ahead it launches a bomb you can't defuse and then it moves up 2 bars at a time when your bombs hardly make a dent

2022 EDIT: I have recently completed hexic 2 again on a dummy and have recorded the run to give you a visual for the kind of pace (and luck!) required. As you can see the victory was extremely narrow!

There are three things you really need to bear in mind whilst attempting this;

1) Combos, combos and A LOT MORE COMBOS as fast as you possibly can (even before the gap from the last combo has been refilled).

2) Keep activating your powers (I honestly just kept spamming "Y" the whole time). The whole "save the green" method to explode the other players pieces never worked for me as the pieces wouldn't give me enough points in time. So I'd recommend using your green power whenever the opportunity arises.

3) Now this is the KEY to succession... DEFUSE EVERY BOMB! If you let more than one bomb detonate then there is little to no chance of you getting the win because of the amount of points the AI will gain. However, if three or so bombs detonate on the AI then there is a good chance you will win as long as you keep the combos coming whilst waiting for the bomb to come back your way. The game I beat the AI on I had detonated probably 4 bombs in a row on them, after getting one detonated on me, but still giving me a 3 bar lead!

Now this achievement may well take you 100+ attempts (like me and a few others) but if you keep at it then it should be yours in no time.

Hope this helps.

Mashing Y helped me a lot, thanks for this. Didn't need too many star pieces/emeralds even with this trick.

+1 ;)
Got it after a few tries. Another important tip is to try to make combos at the BOTTOM of the screen as long as possible. You'll have more chance to get good chains.
This made the difference for me.

There is no easy way around this one. One of the more difficult achievements on the list, as the Expert computer moves quickly and rarely makes a move that doesn’t result in a combo. Some tips to win are listed below.

1. Pause the game and try to study what you can see on the screen. Do this so you can try and map out your moves before you just go in blindly trying to create. You won’t get the greatest view because the pause menu blocks most of your view, but if you pause-resume and repeat somewhat in succession, you will be able to see. Sounds crazy, but it does help.

2. Create Starflowers and Emeralds as often as you can. These give you more then just normal combinations, and can be used if you get into a situation where the computer has locked part of your board.

3. Although I don’t recommend blowing up all of your emeralds and Starflowers, create chains to blow up, this will give you more boost on your meter as well. DO NOT Blow all of them, as you may not be able to create one when you need it to remove the locks on your board.

4. Use your attacks wisely. I DO NOT recommend using bombs as the computer will defuse them quickly, which will result in the bomb moving over to your board. Use the collapse only when you really need it. The best attacks are moving the board to create more space for you and less for the computer, and locking the computers pieces. The more of those two attacks you use, the more likely you are to win.

5. Practice, Practice, Practice. Unless you are a master Hexic player, it is unlikely that you will get this achievement on the first run through. Start at the lowest level and work your way up.

This achievement requires you to beat the Expert computer opponent in Battle mode.

This is the hardest achievement in this game, it requires lots of luck and skill as the Expert computer rarely ever makes a move that doesn't result in a combo. Some tips on this difficulty are:

1. You are able to pause the game which can help you study the screen to find crazy combos you can create, although the pause menu screen may be in the way, it is a very useful method. You can even unpause and pause to take a quick look.

2. Create as many starflowers and emeralds as these are better than normal combinations and are able to be used in a situation where the Expert computer has locked a part of your board.

3. If you are behind a lot, you are able to create chains that give more than normal combos and they boost up your meter, although do not use all of your starflowers and emeralds as these are essential when a part of your board is locked up

4. Use attacks smartly, do not use bombs as the Expert computer will defuse them quite quickly and which will result in the bomb moving over to your board. Use the collapse only when you really need it. The best attacks are moving the board to create more space for you and less for the Expert computer and locking the Expert computer's pieces. The more of those two attacks you use, the more likely you are to win the game

5. Don't give up and keep trying as it is tough and unless you are a master at Hexic, you will not do it first try, it will take you a lot of tries, but as you try and try you will get better and better until you can overcome the Expert computer.
