How to unlock the I saw all those hits coming a measure away! achievement in Hi-Fi RUSH - Definitive Guide

*this achievement seems to be broken at the moment*

there are seven non-boss enemy's you will have to perfect parry their QTE Rhythm Attack.
The seven enemies you need to do this with are:
BRUT-1L - Yellow robot with long spiny arms (Spinning Slash) (Chapter 3)
VU-T0R1 - Yellow hawk-like robot (Chapter 5)
VU-REV - Red-flamey hawk-like robot (Burning Revenge) (Chapter 10)
WA-ES-2 - Yellow samurai robot (Poetic Blade) (Chapter 5)
BL-1Z5 - Red fire robot (Fists of Fury) (Chapter 8 & 11)
KEM-0N0 - Red wolf-like robot (Plasma Roar) (Chapter 8)
ARM-D11 - Green-armadillo like robot (Rev Launcher) (Chapter 10)

All of these enemies can be found back-to-back if you play through Track 10, its recommendation you try and complete them all here to avoid switching between tracks.

Doesn't it work in the training room?

@Guii Nothing works in the training room so doubt this does. Although given the extremely finicky nature of this achievement actually tracking it's hard to tell.

I’m at 56% completion on this but not sure who I need still. I’ll try it out tomorrow and give an update if I notice any change.
Edit: complete. Did stage 10. The mini game where you must get “perfect” on every parry against mini boss. Sucks to reset over and over but I had to anticipate the button press instead of on time and worked

Play Track 10 and be sure to "Perfect" parry every hit from the enemys and go into the Spectra Room too, the first non Boss Special enemy there got me the Achievement it was my last one.

I've been stuck at 85% even though I've perfectly parried these enemies multiple times on the harder difficulties. Hope they patch it.

Just made a new save and I can confirm that IT DOES WORK AFTER THE MOST RECENT UPDATE. It just has to be a new save so that the achievement tracker actually tracks your progress. Popped for me after perfectly parrying ARM-D11 in Track 10.

This is not a fix, but maybe something to avoid:
I have managed to parry BRUT-1L perfectly, but the progress does not increase.
I have done the KEM-0N0 (Plasma Roar) and WA-ES-2 (Poetic Blade) with the progress advancing, but is has not done so for the BRUT-1L (Spinning slash). I have done it multiple times perfectly, no increase.

However, for BRUT-1L, I went in the training room in advance of fighting him in the normal game. I've rehearsed it many times until I was able to get it perfectly several times. As such, I'm wondering whether completing this in training "voids" the progress for that non-boss enemy? In other words: Doing it in training doesn't count towards the achievement, but maybe the game tracks it as being complete and does not trigger increasing the progress when doing it in story mode...

I can confirm that making a new save works to unlock this achievement. Just run through the game, and make sure to perfect parry all of the rage attacks and it should unlock after perfectly parrying ARM-D11

The bug has been fixed in the newest update:
An instance where the achievement "Saw All Those Hits Coming" might not unlock for players who performed parries in training mode before completing them in a level has been fixed.

I can confirm the fix works

My achievement stopped tracking after I perfected the first enemy, so I was stuck at 14%. I went through and perfected the other enemies but never got the achievement. I had to do it all over again on a new save and then it worked. The achievement tracking still didn’t work on the new save though, I just had to hope that it was gonna pop.

I UNLOCKED this achievement inside the TRAINING ROOM. I've done the Samurai and the green armadillo thing there and it worked

The seven enemies you need to do this with are:
BRUT-1L - Yellow robot with long spiny arms (Spinning Slash) (Chapter 3)
VU-T0R1 - Yellow hawk-like robot (Chapter 5)
VU-REV - Red-flamey hawk-like robot (Burning Revenge) (Chapter 10)
WA-ES-2 - Yellow samurai robot (Poetic Blade) (Chapter 5)
BL-1Z5 - Red fire robot (Fists of Fury) (Chapter 8 & 11)
KEM-0N0 - Red wolf-like robot (Plasma Roar) (Chapter 8)
ARM-D11 - Green-armadillo like robot (Rev Launcher) (Chapter 10)

There are 7 different non-boss enemies you need to defeat with perfect Rhythm Parry Attacks. They can be found throughout the story, but can all be found back-to-back in level 10. Practice makes perfect, so expect to try these fights over and over again. After getting the enemy's health low enough, they will bust out this attack. If you miss your timing on a parry or the final attack, immediately pause and return to hideout. Every one of these fights has an autosave at the start so you can retry them over and over again, without having to replay the whole level.

This may not be a guide but a hint:

I would recommend pressing the buttons with the rhythm symbols displayed on the screen, rather than hitting with the rhythm heard in the background.

I don't know why, but every time I hit with the background rhythm, there is always a delay and it shows "Good" instead of "Perfect". It's a rhythm game, but there's no adjustment for input lag within the game. And sometimes it feels like there is a delay in the background music than the actual rhythm display.

So far for players who often get "Good" instead of "Perfect", try turning off the bgm and just pressing the buttons based on the rhythm displayed on the screen. compute

Throughout the Hi-Fi Rush campaign you’ll come across what are effectively elite enemies (“non-boss enemies” as the achievement would refer to them as). There are 7 in all, and they constantly crop up throughout the campaign.
What you need to do for this achievement is whittle their Stun Gauge to nothing and then cause enough damage so that they turn into a fiery rage. At this point they'll send out a shockwave that will trigger a Rhythm Parry attack scene.

First things first, don’t jump or dodge this, we want to initiate this scene - it doesn’t take any health off you, so don’t worry. Secondly, you need to get “Perfect” on every parry for them to count towards the achievement.

If you don’t get all perfects, just don’t attack them after to finish them off, and when they're up, they'll send out another shockwave. You can do this multiple times with some. If not, and the fight is about to end, then reload the checkpoint by exiting and reloading your game.

The seven enemies you need to do this with are:
  • BRUT-1L - Yellow robot with long spiny arms (Spinning Slash) (Chapter 7)
  • VU-T0R1 - Yellow hawk-like robot (Chapter 10)
  • VU-REV - Red-flamey hawk-like robot (Burning Revenge)
  • WA-ES-2 - Yellow samurai robot (Poetic Blade) (Chapter 5)
  • BL-1Z5 - Red fire robot (Fists of Fury) (Chapter 8 & 11)
  • KEM-0N0 - Red wolf-like robot (Plasma Roar) (Chapter 11)
  • ARM-D11 - Green-armadillo like robot (Rev Launcher) (Chapter 10)

All right so this are those enemies whose got a bright orange aura when are low health, all of this can be found back-to-back in the track 10, so if you are having the same issue like me, that have defeated all of them by the quick time event and this does not unlock or does not progress, keep in mind it has to be PERFECT, this means that when you press the parry button during the QTE, it has to say "Perfect" and not "Good" if it does say "Good" in any of your parries, then immediately go back to hideout and restart that fight, until all your parries says "perfect" then you will get this cheevo, good luck! And sorry for bad English.

(It's not a guide)

I just got it this way (no new save):

Even with patch, after trying several different ways, BRUT-1L and VU-T0R1 were never accounted for.
So, i decided to redo everything playing through Track 10, again.

One more time BRUT-1L and VU-T0R1 were not accounted for.
But to my surprise, WA-ES-2 and BL-1Z5 were counted twice, strangely completing this achievement.
