How to unlock the Thanks for the free chip, Peppermint! achievement in Hi-Fi RUSH - Definitive Guide

Story related achievement. After beating the second boss Peppermint will unlock the fourth set of buyables from her shop and give you an upgrade chip for free. Once you equip it as part of her tutorial the achievement will unlock.

At the end of chapter 2, speak to Peppermint before you leave and she’ll introduce you to the chip system - which is a way of giving you passive perks. The first one you get for free counts towards this achievement, you just have to exit the shop for it to unlock.
