How to unlock the Who put gears in there? achievement in Hi-Fi RUSH - Definitive Guide
The first golden statue (bust) of Kale you come across can be found on stage two Processing. Halfway through the stage, you'll need to move up to a higher level using three consecutive magnet grapples. Instantly after that you'll find the gold statue, beat the hell out of it until it breaks to get the achievement. Perfect combos speed up the process.
#1 - Processing (After the 3x magnet grapples).
#2 - R&D (Right of the main entrance).
Track 4: Less Budget, More Problems:
#3 - After 2nd AI room, behind lava waterfall.
Track 5: Breakin' Out:
#4 - After you ride the first elevator down, climb up to the right and open the locked door.
#5 - On your way to security node 01, it's just above you at the timed retractable flooring.
#6 - After powering up security node 03. Take a left onto floating platforms after than the elevator. You should see the bust from there.

Fairly early on in chapter 2, after using the magnet 3 times in immediate succession, you’ll see a golden Kale statue in front of you. Kale statues basically give you Gears for smashing it. So, beat the crap out of it for Gears. If you hit “Perfect” timing on your Beat Hit attack, you’ll get more Gears too. So, make sure your timing is great, so you can maximise your output. You can expect to get over 2,000 Gears if done correctly.
