If you're high like me, you're enjoying this game immensely but not enjoying trying to figure out the timing for this one.
Turns out, once you encounter those flying mini helicopter bad guys, you can jump up once and use X to light attack once. This counts as an aerial rave. Jump up and hit it once each time, and you'll get four or five of these raves from each one before they die. Then reload a checkpoint and repeat, or just do this method every time you encounter the flying things throughout the game.

I got this one by hitting enemies with the airborne Y attack, which is like a downward smashing move. So maybe it's just hitting with any airborne attacks?

I suspect so. I just used X because it did less damage, which meant more hits before defeating it

Aerial Raves in Hi-Fi Rush are essentially aerial combos. To get an Aerial Rave to initiate (it’s a 1.5 points multiplier, too and will say under the score breakdown on the right) you need to either a.) get an enemy into the air; or b.) attack air enemies. While the latter is straightforward, the former has a few ways to do it.
) to get up to them in the air and then use the 
attacks - a standard combo works perfectly here. The 
attacks will slam them to the floor, so maybe don’t do that.
Do 50 aerial combos and this achievement will unlock.
- Firstly, the easiest way is the “Rise Up” combo, which is: blank . This will throw an enemy into the air, leaving them open to a follow-up in the air.
- And secondly, the Air Launch combo, which is an
dodge straight into a attack.
