I followed it to the letter but only end up with professional... I think maybe as you kill the limo driver in the explosion?

Update - did it with fiber wire instead of anastetic and worked fine...

Was using a different guide previously but your Mission 5 is better. However, I couldn't get the fiber wire to work very often so just popped him in the head with a silenced pistol after shutting the doors to the room with the maid.

I'm pretty poor at this game so I've been using these guides just to get through the levels at all.

I've done mission 4 what feels like a thousand times now. I can't get the douchebag general to hear the pager outside the door. He won't come out. Feels like a glitch and a seemingly persistent one. Any ideas?

Sorry, none - worked for me first time. Try an alternate method maybe?

The prologue doesn't seem to count as a mission. I just completed Tubeway Torpedo on expert (had to do it again because apparently, saving knocks you down to professional), but no achievement. (I have silent assassin on all missions so far)

everytime a new mission starts I can't choose what weapons I want to carry with me so I neve rhave that anastesic thing :/ I just fibber wire them hope that alos helps :P

What button do I press to jump in the back of the truck during Mission 7? It took me forever to finally get past the guards and run with the truck just to not be able to jump in the back.

Oh good lord! I was hoping these stacked like the difficulty cheevos!! In the middle of normal mode now....(trying to get all the "loose" and "all weapons in shed" cheevos out of the way)....doesn't seem too bad, esp the first 5 SA missions, next stop professional mode!

Upvoted, I'd just like to mention that Mission 8 - Slaying a Dragon can be completed in under 2 and a half minutes. So you could shoot your way through the first 7 missions if you get frustrated trying to sneak about everywhere.

True, its a very fast mission. Run to the side, snipe, exit. And yup that gives SA rating. Definately the fastest mission if your short on some.

It's glitched then, as that method definitely works.

The key to this working using the same levels to quit out after you get the SA the first time then select current game then play it again. If you load you are going back before you ever got the SA in the first time. That's the only way I could get it to work for me.

Just to expand on what EggBigot says above, in case there's still anybody in the same position that I was.

I did everything else on my first playthrough of the game on Normal difficulty and was just left with 4 achievements. Complete the game on both Expert and Professional and 5 Silent Assassins on each difficulty. I replayed the game on Professional, largely mass-murdering my way through the levels but still got SA ranks on Slaying A Dragon and The Seafood Massacre.
After you complete the final level if you back out to the main menu and select Start and Current Game you'll be shown a list of the levels.

From here the fastest way to rack up SAs that I know of is to replay Slaying A Dragon. Don't bother bringing any extra equipment. Just run forwards, hang a left onto the street, right at the yellow dumpster and up the stairs into the little raised park. Unpack your sniper rifle then stand near the tree (not too far forwards or the guards will spot you) aiming through the circular hole in the wall across the road. After a few seconds the target will appear. Shoot the guy in red, pack your sniper rifle back up and run back the way you came, continuing through the alley to the level exit. Very quick and easy SA on any difficulty.

Once it's finished you'll start the next level. Now you can quit back to the main menu, go to Start and Current Game and repeat the process as many times as necessary. In my case both Expert and Professional SA achievements popped the second I reached the exit on my 3rd replay.
