I chose to kneel also, and honestly forgot about that part. I do wonder what happens if you choose to attack. Kneeling just felt right. Maybe you have to redo the fight?

The achievement triggered for me only after I had finished the dialogue with the keepers and fig. You were right! I thought I had failed since I chose to "kneel" rather than "attack." But after all dialogues I got the achievement.

Story-related, cannot miss.
Late on in the game - the 38th out of 40 main quests, in fact - you’ll need to find a certain beast to gain access to San Bakar’s trial in the quest aptly named, “San Bakar’s Trial” quest. Yes, that beast of course is a Graphorn, and yes, he’s dubbed the Lord of the Shore.
Basically, head to the quest marker and fight him, and then capture him at the end. It's as simple as that.

It is this animal that can be bred in the vivarium, remember the place where you tamed it and return there after completing the mission to tame another one of a different sex

This animal is the source of the very rare item "dromahorn horns" (in the vivarium), necessary for the final leveling of some types of legendary equipment.

in addition to LADY_HEINz's hint: the creature has a cooldown of a day, but it will not appear if you wait for it at the respawn point. Therefore, it is better to move to a neighboring location, skip a day, and return.
Personally, I got a female for the fifth time. Before this, only males spawned.
