How to unlock the Room with a View achievement in Hogwarts Legacy - Definitive Guide

The Headmaster's upper study can be found at the very top of "The Grand Staircase" with the closest Floo Flame being the "Trophy Room".

Before we can enter the Study we'll need to unlock the Alohomora spell and upgrade it to open level 3 locks. You'll get Alohomora when you complete the main story quest "The Cartaker's Lunar Lament" for Caretaker Gladwin Moon - this will allow you to open level 1 locks. After that Gladwin will give you a side-quest "The Man Behind The Moons" asking you to collect 9 then a further 13 Demiguise Moons. Completing both these side-quest (22x Moons) will reward you with the ability to open level 2 & 3 locks. See my video guide below for all 30 locations. Now we can head to the Headmaster's study!

Method 1:
Travel to "Hogwarts > The Bell Tower Wing > Flying Class Lawn", equip your Broom (cn_LB+cn_B) and fly up towards the Grand Tower. As you move around to the back side of it, you should see a small balcony that you can dismount onto. Fly over the lowest part of the balcony to avoid the invisible wall. From here open the level 3 lock and enter the Headmaster's Upper Study.

Method 2:
Progress through the main story until you've completed "Poly Juice Plot". Now you can Climb to the very top of "The Grand Staircase" until you reach the "Trophy Room" here you won't be able to get any higher until you've open a level 1 locked door. Once open continue up the stairs until you reach a junction, take the left and you'll reach a level 2 locked door. Open this and head out onto the balcony and you'll meet a level 3 locked door. Opening this door will give you access to the Headmaster's Study.

You can also fly directly to the balcony with the level 3 locked door.

Yeah you need to fly over the lower balcony first. Check the video for the technique.

I've tried Method 1 for about 15 times yesterday. It wouldn't let me dismount on the balcony, so i think this has been patched with last weeks update.

Method 1 still works. Just completed it. I had to fly above the lower balcony and held dismount. It then let me off.

Method 1 worked for me as of Feb 28th. I needed to fly to the smaller lower balcony, fly up the stairs to the larger upper balcony and dismount.

Think method 1 may be patched, there is no lock on the door and it doesn't open when pushed.

Just tried method 1. Neither door on the Balcony would open and it barely let me land my broom in the first place.

On Xbox one version the door doesn't show the unlock option! Even flying from outside the castle. :/

You can still use method 1, but I think you have to wait until your in the end game. I tried it earlier and there was no lock on that balcony door. I did this after the game was beat and I was doing side quests and now there is a lock that I was able to open and make the achievement pop once I got into the room. Its the xbox series x for me.

Pretty easy, but if you dont know where to go, here it is. You do need level 3 locks to get to it

You will need level 3 Alohomora to pick the last lock to enter the headmasters office. If you do not know you will need to collect demiguise statues and hand them in to complete the side quest "The man behind the moons". You will need to collect 25 to complete the quest and unlock the final form of alohomora.

You also need to progress the main story and complete "The Polyjuice Plot" to get up to the grandmasters office. A griffin statue blocks the staircase until then.

(I tried the method of flying on the outside of hogarts to the ledge and it would not let me dismount off the broom so I believe that method has been patched)

Fast travel to the Trophy room floo flame in the grand staircase and follow the path in the video to the top.

Seems like there is a bug in Xbox one version, the doors doesn't show an option to open with Alohomora.

I made a quick video explaining how to bypass all the doors using a wall glitch.

After acquiring Alohomora III and completing The Polyjuice Plot, make your way to the Headmaster's Upper Study via the Trophy Room floo in the Grand Staircase area. Then open the 2nd door on your left in the study which leads out to a balcony and stairs ascending further up the tower. Once you reach the top, unlock the door and enter the room for the trophy to pop.

There are two things that you need to do to be able to get access to the Headmaster’s upper study.

The first is to complete two of the main quests, firstly “The Headmistress Speaks” and then the following quest, “The Polyjuice Plot.” This will get you into the upper echelons that is the Headmaster’s office - without doing those two quests, you’ll lack the required password to gain entry.

At this point you have already got past “Percival Rackham’s Trial” and “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” quest that pops up after, giving you access to the Alohomora spell. However, that will only allow you to lockpick level 1 locks.

To get into the Headmaster’s upper study, you’re going to have to unlock levels 2 and 3 of the lock picking spell. You can do that by finding 9 Demiguise statues in the open-world and then returning to Mr Moon, who will teach you the level 2 of the spell. Then, find 13 more and return to him. This will unlock the 3rd and final level.

Then, when you have access to his office and can pick level 2 and 3 locks, you’ll be able to make your way to the top, through one of the locked doors in his office. Once you’ve stepped into the room, the achievement unlocks.

The nearest fast-travel Floo Flame, by the way, is the Trophy Room in the Grand Staircase.

As an aside, don't forget to grab The Key of Admittance, next to the gramophone, while in there, as that will give you access to the locked door at the other side of the access corridor (where you first gave the password). There's 2 Collection Chests and a Revelio page inside - and it also counts as one of "Hogwarts' Secrets."

To get this achievement you need to get the Alohomora spell level 3. Level 1 is given after the main quest “The caretaker’s lunar melancholy” - quest 25. To obtain levels 2 and 3, you need to bring Gladwin Moon (the side quest “The Man Behind the Moons” can be taken immediately after completing the main quest) a total of 22 Demiguiza figurines (Demimasks). Level increases will occur after you have brought 9 figurines and after 22 figurines.
You can get to the highest point after the main quest 40 "The Polyjuice Plot". However, you can get there another way, by flying outside the castle on a broom to the balcony, but you still need level 3 of Alohomora.

There are more demi-mask figurines than you need to complete the quest to get the 3rd alohomora. I advise you not to focus on Hogwarts, although, of course, there are the most of them there, but fly around small villages. In Hogsmeade there are mainly castles of the 2nd and 3rd levels.

You need to get not to the highest point of the castle, but to a specific room, which is located at the top of the tower.
