How to unlock the Spilled Milk achievement in Hogwarts Legacy - Definitive Guide

To unlock Flipendo you need to complete Professor Garlick's two assignments. Upon completing the side quest "Professor Garlick's Assignment 2" you'll be rewarded with the Flipendo spell.

Now with the spell equip it's simply a case of tracking down some Cows and continually casting Flipendo on them, until the achievement pops. I found the most convenient place to find a Cow was just south of the "East Hogsmeade Valley" Floo Flame. You'll find three stood in front of a pop-up carnival tent owned by "Leopold Babcocke" who is also visible on the world map.

This achievement is probably the most odd. I mean, the others make sense but this is just bizzare and out of the way. Easy achievement though. I think maybe a reference to the movies tbf

@reqqu Actually they are cows. They are highland cows, native to Scotland which is where Hogwarts school is located, in the highlands of Scotland.

There are actually four cows (one is slightly further south), but thanks for the location!

I think this is bugged. I flipped cows over 100 times now and my tracker is stuck at 80%.

*Update*
I created a new game (to get to the map chamber as a slytherin achievement) and progressed further until i unlocked flipendo again. Located a cow and was able to unlock the achievement without issue. Hopefully this solution will help who ever comes across this problem.

You'll unlock Flipendo a bit into the game in one of the assignment missions, It took me around 12 hours from the start of playing while doing every sidequest and map marker I went by.

I was able to find cows by going just east of hogsmeade, south of the "East Hogsmeade valley" floo powder fast travel marker. There were around 8 cows lying in a field, just below the "Leopold Babcocke merchant". If they only appear during the day, you can press right stick on the map menu to wait until day/night. You can hit each of the cows once or just hit one a bunch (they stand up very quickly).

Flipendo is unlocked through Professor Garlick's Second Assignment. With the new spell equipped, head to the merchant Leopold Babcocke in East Hogsmeade Valley. He appears all over the map; however, at this location he always has cows grazing around him. Now, use your spell to flip the same cow or a couple cows 10 times.

Progress Main Story until you get Profesor Garlicks second assignment which upon completing will unlock Flipendo.

Fast travel to the cow pen located in East Hogsmeade Valley (shown in video) and use Flipendo on ten cows to unlock.

Complete all Professor Garlick’s assignments to unlock the Flipendo spell. They are side quests unlocked along the story. After that go find a cow (for example in East Hogsmeade Valley at Leopold Babcocke vendor). Cast Flipendo on a cow 10 times and you're done.

This is a guide on how to... flip the cows in Hogwarts Legacy and earn the “Spilled Milk” Achievement/Trophy.

Spilled Milk is definitely the most humorous Achievement/Trophy in Hogwarts Legacy, as to earn it you have to knock over cows, buffaloes and other lovable quadrupeds.

The fringes of the Forbidden Forest or the outskirts of Hogsmead are a good spot to earn this trophy, as you'll find some animals, even at night.

To flip the cows you must first perform the spell “Levioso” to lift them into the air and then the spell “Flipendo” to flip them upside down. For the sake of brevity, in the video we perform these moves three times, but to earn the Achievement/Trophy you will need to perform this sequence 10 times in total.

I would like to offer an location where I did this.
Just outside Brocburrow, where the Merlin Trial is, there is a herd of cows. It also isn't required for Levisham to be used. I only used it when the Cow wouldn't flip over.

In order to use Flipendo on a cow - or ten - you of course first need to unlock and complete “Professor Garlick’s Assignment 2.” In order to get access to that quest you’ll need to do the following quests:
  • In the Shadow of the Undercroft
  • Professor Garlick’s Assignment 1
  • The Map Room
If you’ve done those 3 quests, you’ll then unlock “Professor Garlick’s Assignment 2,” which once you’ve completed will gain you access to the Flipendo spell.

Now, all you need to do is find some cows. Well, a cow works too. And by cows, we don’t mean the black and white ones that are the more commonly known, we’re talking proper Scottish Highland cows here. You know, the furry ones.

They can be found all over the Highlands, all you need to do is find one and use Flipendo on it 10 times. While they are all over the place, we actually unlocked this quite far into our playthrough, in the deep south. If you head to the lower part of the game-world, just north of the Niffler and Hippogriff den in central Manor Cape (if you zoom out, just below the words “Manor Cape” on the map), you’ll find a load of cows there.

Flipendo will unlock after completing Professor Garlick's Assignment 2. First, grow and harvest Fluxweed in the Room of Requirement. Then make sure you have a few of each of the combat plants. Find a small group of enemies in the open world. While fighting them, use a Chinese Chomping Cabbage and a Venomous Tentacular. Then, finish it off with a Mandrake. Return to Professor Garlick to learn Flipendo.

Once you have the spell, locate cows in the open world (there are some just south of the East Hogsmeade Valley floo flame next to the traveling vendor). Cast Flipendo on one of the cows 10 times and the trophy will unlock.

Simply go to a cow and cast Flipendo.
Just let them stand up before casting again

There are a lot of cows, the achievement is counted in total, you can do it on several cows. The first time I did it was when I was running with Sebastian from the cave and the timer started, indicating that you were far from the goal of the task. I managed to do it 7 times, the next time I got the achievement on another cow after the 3rd time.

The Flipendo spell is taught by herbology professor Mirabelle Chesnoke in the first (story) half of the game.
