This one is more or less easy, but a bit grindy. The fastest way I found was by upgrading mainly three things whenever you hit the next level. Those being speed to move faster, value to earn more from each item that falls into the hole, and size to make sure you can get those bigger objects.
I say by the time you hit level 12 or level 13 you should mainly focus on upgrading your value and (if you have enough left over) your size as this will speed up the process although not by much. The required amount once you hit level 14 is around 163k. Don't worry about getting to level 16 as the achievement should pop the moment you pass level 14.

Increasing object spawn and multiplier was the way to go. I've cleared some spots and it was just grinder waiting for more thing to pop up.

The way it is designed it's pretty much impossible to focus on certain upgrades once you reach level 5. You essentially can upgrade everything once per level afterwards, there isn't enough money to get two hole size upgrades later on. The payouts double each level but so do the upgrade costs.
