You score a rim shot when the ball passes through the pale blue border around the edge of the computer's playing field, or (on a serve) if it is on the edge of the area as it goes through. The best way to get this is on the easy campaign. Hit a slow serve to the AI, then return his shot straight into the blue zone. If it's not going into the blue zone, before it gets to the wall use the T trigger to call the ball back with your tractor beam and try again. In the easy campaign you score three points per round over five rounds - so you have plenty of chances to get ten rim shots before the end.
