How to unlock the Iron Man - Why We Fight achievement in Homefront - Definitive Guide

Some tips for all stages:
- Difficulty does not matter, so you're better off playing on easy.
- Use cover! Most of the environment is indestructible, everything from airplane parts to wood crates, use that to your advantage, and heal when you've taken some damage.
- Take it slow! In most parts of the game (if not all - there's at least one spot I'm just not sure of), there is a set number of enemies, no unlimited spawning like Black Ops, so there's no pressure to make it up to a certain area. Take your time and pick guys off from a distance. Your team will usually run ahead of you when an area has been cleared. Whey they get to the next area, they may take out a few of the enemies or, at the very least, help show you where the enemies are ... BUT ...
- Your team AI isn't always great. Enemies will sometimes run right by them and come after you. Your team can't be killed, which is a huge plus, but always stay on your toes!
- Watch out for the grenade indicator. There isn't a 'throw back' option like in other games, so your only choice is to get out of there!

Possible Issues with Stage 1: (minor spoilers)
- You climb up to a treehouse to provide cover overlooking a plane crash site, but you're not up there long. Back on the ground, there are a lot of enemies to take care of. Your team takes the main path through everybody, but there is a separate path off to the right that can be used to flank, Just be careful, there are always a couple guys tucked back there that can take you by surprise.
- Shortly after that you come to a house with a machine gunner in the upper window. After taking out a few guys you circle around to the far side of the house and an APC crashes through the fence to the right, be sure to stay out of its way. There is a ramp or scaffold or something to take you up to the upper level of the house. Several guys will come out the window after you, be patient and let them come to you. Once they're gone, there's lots of C4 in the house to take care of the APC.
- After meeting up with Boone, you get attacked by the KPA and need to rush into a house which you have to defend for a short time. Enemies approach form multiple directions, I found if I crouched down in the back left corner of the room you're in, you can take out guys trying to come in trough the door and through the window fairly easily. Just watch out for grenades.

Just to confirm you CANNOT start from the Pistol in Hand checkpoint to get this achievement.
Couple of tips in addition to other solution:

Stay in the gas station until the pumps explode.
When you fall out of the treehouse, stay far back on the right as the main risk is stray grenades which as mentioned you can't throw back.
When you advance past the plane, as soon as you take out the machine gunner in the window head straight along the left most wall, there is a man around that corner turning right. Then once you climb the ladder straight ahead a man will come out of the window, it's best to do this early so by the time the APC crashes through you're already in cover.
When defending the front room with the civilian, I tuck into the front left corner looking right so you kill anyone climbing through the window straight ahead of you, can quickly pop round the corner and get some kills/throw some C4 into the middle of the area.
Using goliath you don't need to hold down trigger, just wait for the lock. It can target multiple people or one vehicle.

Also an extra tip, if you've already completed on guerilla so running through the level try not to rush too much. I did this and don't know if it was the dialogue triggers got messed up or what but Rianna wouldn't enter a building so Connor wouldn't open the front door.

Good luck.

this might sound like a stupid question so you can't retry it a second time or is it a one time thing

When you are hiding in a broken house from patrolmen with an armored personnel carrier, from the words “Let's go, let's go!” We are 4-5 seconds away from being able to cross the road without any problems: be careful. You can also die in a house where you are protecting a woman with a child - as soon as you see her running away through the back door, run after her.
