How to unlock the Completed a Long Glide achievement in Horizon Forbidden West - Definitive Guide
There is a Level 16 Side Quest called Signal Spike that you can get after your complete
main mission. The mission is southwest of
and requires you to essentially triangulate a signal an Oseram Tinker named Silga is looking for. She will be under attack - that's how you'll know you're close.
Once you've done the initial signal, you'll be tasked with finding the other two. Go to the one that is closest to the location above. Once you complete that step of the quest, Aloy will make a comment like "I'll bet I can get a good view if I glide from here". Go as far towards the next signal across the top as you can before jumping off and gliding.
You should get the trophy a few seconds before you touch the ground.

This trophy can be done by simply flying up as high as you can go on a Sunwing and gliding back down to the ground but not every area will be suitable as there are different elevations for the ground and for the height limit so you will need to find somewhere with 60 seconds worth of space between the two.
The video below will show where it can be done, keep in mind that once you hit the height limit you will automatically lower quite a bit so don't jump off as soon as you hit the limit, fly back up and drop just before you hit it!

As an alternative, this can also be done towards the end of the "A Soldier's March" side quest received in Bulwark. Once you've helped Penttoh reach the top, you will have to glide back down a valley that is far enough to get the trophy to unlock.

I got this after "A Soldier's March" too. For the record, I just let controls sticks alone, and let it glide at its own rate, once pointed in the direction of the basecamp. Don't know if that would affect the descent rate, but I thought i'd mention it in case.

Here's how I unlocked this trophy with 49 extra seconds of glide time.
In the main quest, The Wings of the Ten, you will unlock the ability to override Sunwings. Climb to the top of the mountain starting from the west exit to your base, and override one of the Sunwings there.
Hold to fly directly up from where you are. Since you’re on a mountain, the maximum altitude will be significantly higher than anywhere on the map. When you see the Sunwing bobbing up and down, indicating that you reached the max height, press to dismount, followed immediately by holding to start your glide. Aim for the valley to the west of your base. You should have plenty of time to spare. I ended up with a buffer of 49 seconds.

There are so many opportunities to grab this trophy, especially later in the game when you unlock a few things, but it’s actually possible (easily) in the quest A Soldier’s March Mission, picked up in the Bulwark.
In the quest you’ll essentially be heading up a mountain to see whether Penttoh is okay, after he set up there to prove a point to his clan. Towards the end of the quest, when you find the flower, you’ll be prompted to make your way back down to speak to Wekatta. You can actually jump off the edge here and make it pretty much all the way down to the bottom (which is actually more than a 60-second glide), so do that here, take home the trophy. Easy stuff.
If you’re already done that quest and didn’t do that, then wait until you’ve done The Wings of the Ten mission, then make your way to a high point in the map and jump off. Easy enough, this.
