How to unlock the It’s over 9000 achievement in HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED - Definitive Guide

You can upgrade cars from your collection screen and this costs 500 Gears to upgrade a Rare car (cars are noted as being common / rare / legendary etc in the top left of the screen)

Simply upgrade 15 rare cars by holding cn_A on the car you wish to upgrade

You can also upgrade Common cars to Rare and then upgrade them from Rare to Legendary and they'll still count towards this achievement

Upgrading vehicles requires gears which is another form of currency used in the game and there are a few ways to earn them. You will automatically earn quite a few as you progress through the Hot Wheels City Rumble mode. You can also earn gears by dismantling vehicles you own. The amount of gears you recieve will vary depending upon the rarity of the vehicle. Common vehicles will give you 50 gears, whilst a legendary vehicle will give you 200 gears.

Upgrading a rare vehicle costs 500 gears and the vehicle will increase to legendary as a result. As you need to do this 15 times, this will set you back 7,500 gears. You should have more than enough gears by the time you finish the Hot Wheels City Rumble mode, so this shouldn't be a problem.
