How to unlock the What do I do with so many? achievement in HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED - Definitive Guide

This one is not hard, just a grindy achievement. If you have a friend or a random who needs coins, you can break two birds with one stone and grind a lot of coins together fast! Here's how:

Host a private match and turn on lobby creator. Press "Y" to go to community tracks and head to "Most Likes". Go to the track that says "Money" and select it. When you start, go past the starting line and WAIT FOR 20 SECONDS. If you don't, you won't get any coins. When you and your partner complete the race, 1st place will have 725 coins and 2nd place would have 675. Either way it benefits you and your partner. Do this for an hour and both of y'all will end up with 40,000 coins! Now that's a lot!

Now spend all these coins on blind boxes and grind the cars for gears! Hypothetically, let's say you have 50,000 coins and spent all on boxes, which is 100. Grinding common cars are 50 gears, rare's are 100, legendary's are 200 and super treasure hunts are 500. Let's just say you got 100 common cars and grinded them all, that'll leave you with 5,000 gears!

I know this tactic is monotonous but this is the fastest way to grind for coins! Of course you can play other short tracks like drag and Daytona races. There are plentiful of short tracks if you don't wanna play the same track over and over again.

I hope this helped someone. Have fun!

Is this my track or a different track? Trying to figure out whether somebody else created a track like mine or I coincidentally created a track the same as another?

I've been using a track called Easy Money from the community which only takes 20 seconds to run. Very efficient way to get coins, but man, those gears are tedious as hell.

Whenever there’s a Super treasure car for Sale get that and dismantle it for 500 Irons, this one’s kinda messy if done single player so I did it as and when I could, with keeping super treasure car in mind while doing single player campaign, cheers guys

Just as a reference, I probably opened and dismantled about 250 cars and bought a few super treasure cars when they were in the limited shop to get to the 25,000 gears.

I think buying STH cars is the way to go. Much more efficient than blind box buying. Of course, finish all dlc tracks for coins and boxes as well.

how do you tell if a car is an STH car in the shop? I bought ones that were on a list claiming that they were STH but they ended up being commons...

The blind box method is faster. The Store typically has one Super Treasure Car and after you buy it, you have to wait until the store refreshes until you can get another. With 100,000 Coins, you can buy 200 blind boxes and even if you only got Common cars in all 200 you would end up with 10,000 gears.

Anybody who is psycho like me and breaks this stuff down, it takes 1:10 for every race if you’re doing it perfectly. Readying up, selecting the Money track, going over the line and waiting 20 seconds, then the 15 second mandatory countdown. It’s about 37K per hour if you’re doing it perfectly, but if you’re boosting and half paying attention, probably closer to 32-35k unless you’re really focused. Doing this for 2hrs is enough to essentially get you everything you need. Combined with the campaign you should have enough to hit the 100k coins, 100 blind boxes, 100 quick races, upgrades, etc. The only thing you most likely miss is the 25k gears. That will take a couple extra hours unless you get insanely lucky.

I would like to add something, you don't need to have 25k gears at once, so you can spend them freely. Before dismantling cars, upgrade them, you'll get more gears

* Common to Rare: 50 + 50 gears
* Common to Legendary: 50 + 150 gears
* Rare to Legendary : 100 + 100 gears

Bonus tip - When you have 700 gears upgrade a common to legendary before dismantling it. This will get you an extra 150 towards the achievement.
I scrapped most of my cars and most had been upgraded to legendary which meant that I didn't need to grind any extra coins after getting the 100k achievement.

I just tried the theory above me and.. Don't ever upgrade a car to legendary level. Instead upgrade all common cars to rare. Common -> rare costs 200 gears and rewards you with 50 more gears towards the achievement, that's a 25% cashback. Common -> Legendary, cost: 700, reward: 150, and thats 21%. Rare -> Legendary, cost: 500, reward: 100.. That's only 20%. More cashback means having more gears although having spent them, thus being able to upgrade more cars, or in other words, getting more rewards!!

Actually the best time you can get per race (playing on Xbox One X at least) is exactly 1:30 and not 1:10 like it’s mentioned before
So it gives the #1 29k per hour and 27k for the #2
It’s a bit different from what’s been mentioned so I felt like I should add it in here

I want to echo erick xbLiV's comment - you should never upgrade a rare car, but you should upgrade every common car to rare before dismantling. I actually grinded more coins than needed for this, I could have popped the 25k gears BEFORE the 100k coins. If you only spend gears on upgrading commons (besides the rares you need to upgrade for other achievements), you should be able to get this before the 100k coins.

Its a pity you cant track how much you need. Would make it slightly less annoying.

I created a track to automate grinding for money called: "Auto (Short)" where you can get a rubber band or something to hold down the gas button and as soon as you cross the start line the track will auto-complete itself in 25-ish seconds so you don't have to sit and wait to cross the finish line to get a reward.

I also found a bug/dev command where if you mash the 'Force Ready status' button when you're in your private lobby it will usually (it can be a bit finicky, make sure you have 'course selection' set to 'Lobby Creator' too) auto-select the last track you raced on so you don't have to manually select the same track over and over.

@count023: Super Treasure Hunt cars have a red rarity box when viewing them in the shop, collection, or car selection menus, you can also preview cars in the Limited Offers shop by holding the Y button, an example of an STH car would be Street Creeper from the 2019 Rod Squad series.

Note: Street Creeper from the 2019 Rod Squad series is also a common rarity so if you're looking for STH cars it is important to pay attention to the rarity box before buying, selling, or dismantling cars. STH cars can't be upgraded but they can be dismantled for 500 gears, or you can sell them for 2000 coins.

Note 2: The following link has what I believe to be every car in the game also beware of spoilers for collectors, City Rumble and unobtainable cars. This link is provided in order to clear up any confusion on car rarities. https://hotwheels.fandom.com/wiki/Hot_Wheels_Unleashed

Update 12/10/2022: It appears seasons are no longer available, and you can't complete old ones, they're just done and gone. Grinding coins to turn into gears and playing through City Rumble are now the only options left currently. I will update again if things change.

---------------------

Since the introduction of Racing Seasons, simply doing the daily challenges every day will net you tons of gears and coins from leveling up. The gear and coin rewards are fortunately free to everyone. The DC Villains season has 13,000 Gears in total in rewards, plus 200 Gears for every level up above tier 50.

Here's the updated way to reaching 25,000 Gears efficiently:

1) 100% the City Rumble mode while making sure to finish daily challenges every day along the way. Completing daily challenges is the only way to get through the tiers at a decent pace.

2) For excess coins, spam buy blind boxes. Upgrade any Common cars you get to Rare to dismantle them for 100 Gears instead of 50, and straight dismantling the rest. The only cars you should be buying out of the shop directly are Super Treasure Hunts, and dismantling them as well. Unless you get duplicates, cars that I recommend keeping and fully upgrading are the 24 Ours, Koenigsegg Jesko, Power Rocket, and K.I.T.T.

3) Grab a buddy or a dummy account on another console and grind out private lobby boosting tracks (custom tracks that consist of only a start line and finish line). 1st place gets 70 coins, 2nd gets 65, and so on. By far the fastest way to boost coins outside of the Racing Season.

4) Grind out short races like Ready, Set, Go! and T-Rex in the Living Room (both can be sub-2 minute races) for consistent coins (50 a race for 1st place).

5) AFK in online quick race lobbies while you're at work/sleeping/out of the house etc. for extra coin income. Rubber-banding your cn_RT can give you a few higher places every race. This might not even be worth the hassle at this point, as this is becoming more irrelevant with the introduction of Racing Season rewards being 10s of times more rewarding for far less effort.

Also, make sure to check the shop when it refreshes every 1 hour and 30 minutes of in-game time.

Just unlocked this, and was at 86.7% completion on City Rumble, Level 53 on the DC Villains race Season (playing 3-5 races daily, but focussing on the daily objectives), and I had used up all but about 2,000 coins on buying and dismantling vehicles.

Just want to add that this achievement becomes quite a bit more reasonable if you have the DLC tracks (batman/stop motion/looney tunes) as those maps give you about 2-3k gears. I got this achievement right after the 100 podium wins one and was only at level 30 on the racing season.

Guess I’m too late to do racing seasons since they don’t seem to be available anymore, old method of grinding it is then

How long did you take to get this achievement without racing season? @Tendoman77
Edit: it took me about 120-130 races (52 from the main story and others from Multiplayer quick races) to get enough coins to buy blind boxes and dismantle cars. I recommend to upgrade cars before to dismantle, no matter if you waste gears for it because it's better to accumulate +100 or +200 gears than +50. It's accumulative.

Milage may vary but I finished the base campaign and 1.5 dlcs and I hit 10k gears and 50k coins. This is without any seasons. So will prob take a bit of grinding after having all completed

As advice. I'm at the end of the campaign, too. I have the 50k coins cheevo, but not even the 10k gears one. I just sold all cars I collected so far (not something I liked very much because I tried to collect them all through the game, but well, I just use the road runner one to be honest... So who cares..). This way you should get a ton of coins back. Buy chests and sell these for gears until you have enough of them. Until this point you should have the coin one or just need a few grind sessions to get both. You should need some wins anyhow for the 100 podium wins.

Look for my community track named ‘Money Track’ and either find a partner or use a second Xbox to boost online private matches with. Wait for the timer to reach 20 seconds before crossing the line. This will give you 725 coins for 1st and 675 coins for 2nd. Took me approximately an hour to get enough gears. Could vary depending on luck with gears etc from vehicle rarity when dismantling. One trick is to always use your coins to upgrade rare then common vehicles to break them down for more gears each time. This is important to speed the process up.

I tried your track out TuKraZe but i think the game only awards coins if the race lasts at least 20 seconds. I tried a few tracks out and ended up testing using my own and started out trying anything above 10 seconds with 0 coins awards. Then tried a 15s race and no coins. Wasn't until i built a track just over 20s that the game awarded coins.

TLDR - track has to be long enough for the race to last at least 20 seconds

@Voodoo85, I literally mention in my comment above that you must wait for the timer to hit 20 seconds before crossing the line. I tested this multiple times and already established this. My track is incredibly long, I just created the shortcut at the beginning for boosting money and gears.

@TuKraZe - ah so you did (apologies), As i said, its simple enough to make a track so just built one long enough (with a vertical loop) that took 20s to complete and therefore able to rubberband controllers etc

Also it’s cumulative total you don’t have to hold 25,000 at one time so upgrade some cars to legendary you don’t need to get 200 gears in return dismantling them.

I have followed and tried many ways to earn coins. The less time consuming is:
Quick modes.
Quick race.
Choose your car.
Choose the race crossroads.
Its the race that has the number 2 and has a pool table on the background of the number.

This trophy is no longer a major grind thanks to the latest patch which massively increased payouts. You will now earn 525 coins for a win in single-player versus a measly 50 coins pre-patch, whilst you will earn 725 coins for a win in multiplayer. The increased payouts means that you can purchase 1 blind box after every win, something that used to take 10 wins to do pre-patch. Instead of immediately scrapping the vehicles you win from blind boxes, I recommend that you use any gears you already have to upgrade the rarity of vehicles. This is because you only get 50 gears from scrapping a common vehicle, but you can earn up to 200 gears from scrapping a legendary vehicle. Keep purchasing blind boxes and upgrading as many vehicles as you can to legendary before scrapping them. Now simply repeat this process until you reach 25,000 gears.
