I'm confused. Do I have to build any weapon or weapon by category? such as an assault rifle or all assault rifles? Same thing for the armor. Do I have to build any piece of any armor or do I have to build all the pieces as a set of armor? thank

Couldn't find my old notes but after going back into the game, it is all weapons apart from the Voodoo Hard Rock guitar (Pre-order bonus i believe) and possibly a couple of others. So for semi-auto pistols, it's not just make any of the seven semi-auto pistols it's that you have to make all 7 this applies to all gun types. You can get by with just one armband and one knee-pad of each armor set rather than both.

After returning to this game and making every weapon I didn’t get the achievement likely because I originally played coop and I didn’t know what weapons were ones my friend made instead of me. As opposed to grinding all the material again to build everything twice I saw this duplication glitch.
The game hasn’t been updated in years so it’s safe to assume this won’t be patched.
Duplication Glitch:
I recommend watching the video first to get the sense of how to do everything properly.
Text Guide (for once you know how to do it and just need a quick reference):
1. Make a server or Join the one you’ve already been using.
2. Whatever you want to duplicate, put into your backpack.
3. Transfer everything you want to duplicate into your backpack.
4. Once done press start (
) and quit to the main menu in game to have it save.
5. Now press the Xbox button (
) and quit the game completely (close application)
This allows Xbox to upload your save file to the cloud
6. Wait roughly 30 seconds to be sure your save file had been uploaded
7. Start the game back up, rejoin your server
8. Transfer everything from your backpack into your trunk.
9. Once done, press the Xbox button () and select manage game & add-ons
10. Go to your saved data and delete your saves FROM THE CONSOLE.
(you may have to delete it twice if it instantly re-appears)
11. Start the game again and rejoin your server.
(your game will re-sync your save file upon loading the game)
12. Open your trunk to notice you still have all the contents plus duplicates on your character.
13. To duplicate again right away, revert back to Step 2 by again transferring all the items in your trunk to your already full backpack and repeat all the steps.
I obviously recommend getting a few of every one of the materials needed as listed by ”Okin E Magus” in the other solution. Therefore when you duplicate you can just continue to duplicate over and over until you get enough of everything you need.

So the baseball bat and the improved one aren't needed even though you can actually craft them? I made them anyway.
BEST WAY TO DO THIS AND ALL CRAFTING:
Play the game normally (only leveling up when you need to go to the next mission) and only get the armory/kitchen/accessories/foundry.
I went with bows so whenever i could craft a better one I did; but I basically kept saving up all my resources I could and doing the idle xp trick for my camp to get the player upgrades I needed. and then I started the dup glitch; and basically get 100's of materials in each category (Makes things A HELL of a lot easier)
Man this game would've been a huge grind replaying levels and especially in co op, would you want to keep dragging your friend through the same missions again and again ahh hell no lol

You need to create all melee weapons except (hard rock voodoo guitar because it was only given for pre-ordering the game) all firearms, all bows and crossbows.
