Can be done very early in the game. You'll be given a stick after talking to the guy on the beach. When you encounter a zombie, tap 
(rather than hold it for the strong attack) for a weak attack, you'll then get a prompt to 'Kill' by pressing 
. This will kill your zombie and the achievement will pop straight away.
If you follow the path to the left from where you start, you'll be given instructions on this when you pick up the second book (Kovacs Rules).

As you fight the zombies with your weapons you'll see a prompt appear over the zombie to press 
. Simply press at that time and you'll achieve your first instant kill. Congratulations, only 99 more to go.
