A a volcanologist zombie can be found on the DLC (El Diablo Island)
You first meet a volcanologist zombie when you open your first safehouse and looks like an astronaut.
A Golden Weapon is just the weapon with a redstone attached
This can be done with a Golden Triple Sticks Cutting Boomerang, Golden Precision rifle or A Golden Longbow/Crossbow with incendiary arrows. (regular arrows may work)
You must lock on for a headshot with any of these weapons 4 times to kill him.
The location of the 4 redstone and all of the pieces for the Golden Triple Sticks Boomerang will be listed at the bottom of the guide.
To make a Golden Precision rifle you need to combine Harpoon Grip + Manual Compressor + Long Tube + Hardware + redstone
To make a Golden Triple Sticks Cutting Boomerang you will need to combine 3 bones with a machete or an axe to make 3 bone blades and then combine the 3 bone blades together to get Triple Sticks Boomerang. After making the Triple Sticks Boomerang you will need to add a piece of Flint and then lastly add a piece of Redstone to make the Golden Triple Sticks Cutting Boomerang.
Golden Triple Sticks Boomerang-
Machete/Axe- You should already have a cutting type tool
Bones- Can be found around animal carcasses
Flint- Around the shoreline
Redstone- From monkey missions or in sheds that can only be opened with explosives.

To get the redstone you must make a molotov and combine that with chemical fertilizer so you can open these barricades. You can make this 10 times easier if you add the explosive molotov to 10 arrows and now you have 10 explosive arrows.

Everyone that read this guide didnt have trouble so i dont understand why your say my guide is incorrect because its not. All of the solution is correct but it may be missing some things because I didnt have time to test every weapon that can kill him and im not a How to Survive Wikipedia. The achievement states "Kill a volcanologist zombie without electricity" and this is easily done with golden weapons because they are strong and easy to make. It doesnt state that he needs to be killed with a golden weapon but, its the most effective and least stressful way. If your friend killed him with a bow then why didnt you go use a bow to kill him or why didnt your friend walk you through it? If you want to kill him just find 3 bones and combine them with a cutting tool to make 3 bone blades and then add them together to make a triple sticks boomerang and add a piece of flint and then a red-stone. (All red-stone locations are in the guide) Just use take the boomerang and aim it at the volcanologist untill the crosshair turns red and throw it at him 3-4 times to get the achievement. (Which was in the guide) I hope this helps, and please dont post on my solution saying its incorrect when its not. I tried to add as much to this guide as i could because some things in this game are hard to find so i put in multiple ways to kill him so it gives you more options and you spend less time looking for certain things.

Why are you talking about golden weapons? The achievement description doesn't name them and my friend got it with a normal bow. Mine is not unlocking though.... Could you be more specific of what must be done? Now it looks like most of the solution is incorrect, talking about Golden weapons even though they can be killed without them.

This can be done on Horno with your starter gun - the one you build from the parts sitting around Kovac's camp the first time you visit the island (I'm sure it's easier with a golden weapon if you want to jump through all the hoops necessary to get one).
After you visit Kovac the first time and do his quests that teach you about hunger, thirst and exhaustion meters, you can answer a radio call from Horno island saying something about needing to get Henry to safety. Find the parts around Kovac's trailer and build your first gun and then head over to the east coast of the island and take the boat to Horno. The enemies here are quite a bit tougher than on the previous two islands (likely because this content isn't supposed to be done at this time) and you'll receive a notification that you're not prepared for this area and should come back later when you have more gear, but if you can kite the zombies and line up headshots, it's not that bad.
After talking to the NPC who started the quest, you'll go up a hill on the west side of the map and retrieve something, head back to her for an escort mission, head south to retrieve something else and then she'll give you a quest to go fetch 3 cogs. One of the cogs is in the building on the hill to the west and when you open the gate here, your first Volcanologist zombie will come out along with a handful of others. Just keep kiting them around and lining up headshots until they're all dead - I think it took about 15 shots to take him down.

Pretty old game now , considering , but i just did this with a bow and arrow on easy , same place as this solution , i just never had the gun built.

They are the zombies that you will encounter on Horno, Cenizas and Ascuas Islands that look like they're wearing a spacesuit with a tank of some sort on their back. They're essentially armored so you'll have to hit them several times with head shots to kill them. However, you'll want to do it from the front because if you shoot them from behind you'll hit the tank which will make them run towards you before exploding. When they do die they'll fall over backwards and explode. With a Golden Triple Sticks Cutting Boomerang you'll have to hit it four times in the face, the second hit will crack the face shield and the fourth will kill it.
To get Triple Sticks Cutting Boomerang you combine 3x Bone + Machete to get 3 Bone Blades, then combine 2x Bone Blades to get Twin Sticks Boomerang, combine that with another Bone Blade to get Triple Sticks Boomerang, combine with Flint to get Triple Sticks Cutting Boomerang and finally combine with a Red Stone if you want the Golden Triple Sticks Cutting Boomerang variety.
