How to unlock the Survival veteran achievement in How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition - Definitive Guide

As Cesar Alves said: level 21 is the goal and the score will be mixed from both single-player and coop matches.

I didn't find any exact numbers on how many points you need in total to get to lvl 21, so I will post my stats here for you to see how much longer you have to play.

Keep in mind that it does not matter if you finish with a particular rank. The ranks won't level you. The maximum score is what it is all about.

Here we go:

Single player

1. not played

2. not played

3. 2840

4. not played

5. not played

6. 3754

7. not played

8. not played

Coop

1. 6297

2. 4097

3. 5972

4. 5806

5. 6037

6. 6941

7. 5616

8. 5030

I did most of them on easy difficulty. Except for no. 3 in single-player.

Hope this helps you guys :-) wave

i'd recommend doing it solo, the score you need to reach hobby survivalist seems to be way lower there. i only made 6 challenges (all on easy) with a total score together of 21'243 (average of around 3'500 per challenge) and i'm already one rank above hobby survivalist. i only did one challenge in coop for the other cheevo, there i scored 6687..

So after doing this I can say with 100% confidence that if you do the game in co-op it only counts your personal score at the end screen.

Thus doing this in solo or in co-op will be equally as quick.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that this achievement popped up to tell me that I got this one. I had to look in my achievements list to see that I got it.

I highly doubt that this achievement is solely about the score.

I am at rank 23 having finished only 6 single player challenges and not a single multiplayer challenge.

Challenge 1: 2525 Ironman B
Challenge 2: 2431 Ironman C
Challenge 3: 3764 Ironman S
Challenge 4: 3634 Easy S
Challenge 5: 3725 Easy S
Challenge 6: 3797 Easy S

When I've finished a challenge, went to rank 23 and achievement didn't popped. Had to enter to play in another one and then I've got it.

Rank 21 and no cheevo, did another mission to be sure (you cant go further than 21) and nothing. Glitched.

You will need to reach level 21 which is Survival Hobbyist. You can do it with any combination of challenges on easy, normal or ironman and do them either solo or co-op. You cannot play the same challenge over and over as it only saves your highest score in any particular challenge combination. The challenges I completed for this achievement were challenge #1 solo on easy, #2 solo on easy, #3 solo on easy, #4 solo on easy and normal, #6 solo on easy, normal and ironman, #6 co-op on easy and normal, and #8 solo on easy and normal.

The other solutions are too complicated.

I completed Challenge 3 first on Iron Man for two achievements:
How to Survive: Storm Warning EditionUntouchableThe Untouchable achievement in How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition worth 450 pointsComplete a challenge in "Iron man" difficulty without losing health.

How to Survive: Storm Warning EditionThe weaselThe The weasel achievement in How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition worth 293 pointsComplete a challenge in "Normal" difficulty without losing health.

Then I completed Challenges 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 on easy, after which I was rank 24 and the achievement popped.

Here's my 1 minute, no damage Challenge 3 run on Iron Man, which requires some luck to quickly get the spark plugs into the plane:

Here are my summary screens (showing my player rank progression) for the other challenges:

It is necessary to complete THREE tests for rank S.

My history.
I passed one test for rank S and was immediately given level 10. Then I passed another one to rank B and they gave me 13th. I decided to retake the first test on a higher difficulty and ended up getting an S rank, but remained at the same level. I thought that I needed to go through different levels. Passed another one to rank S and one to rank A, got 20th. There was one level left, I entered a NEW challenge and passed it to rank A, BUT I STAYED AT THE SAME LEVEL!!!! Then I passed another one on S and immediately got the 24th.
Bottom line.
I still don’t understand what system is used to assign levels here. I can only assume that they are given precisely for the number of levels passed to a certain point (that is, you will not get a level above 20 until you pass three tests for S).
I hope my experience will help you develop the right strategy for winning the trophy.
