A dragon’s custom racing paint is unlocked simply by competing in all four tournaments with that racer. Once you have completed all four tournaments, you can enter the Dragon Hangar and press to switch into the racing paint for the given dragon which will unlock Fearsome. Repeat for all five dragons and you will unlock this trophy as well as Skin in the Game.

Note you can unlock two dragon’s racing paints at the same time by playing all four tournaments in splitscreen. However, they did not unlock for me when switching dragons between player 1 and player 2. For example, if you play the first two tournaments with Hiccup/Astrid and the last two tournaments with Astrid/Hiccup the paints did not unlock for me for either. Playing all four with Hiccup/Astrid in the same session without switching controllers did unlock both of their paints though for me. Since playing two player seemed to cause the Dragon Whisperer to glitch as well, I would just play single player unless this is your last trophy to unlock and you still need multiple skins.
