TRAINING EVENTS
Blazing Shot Events:- Even though you are against the clock just take your time, you don't want to hit a maiden. You need the maximum score of 2400 on each of these which is achieved by hitting all the Vikings and none of the Maidens.
Dragon Spirts Events:- These can be quite tricky if the camera wigs out as it has a tendancy to do. Be very light on the stick especially in sections were you dive towards the ground or acend straight up as these points are where the camera goes wild the easiest. Usually you can't afford to miss more than a couple of rings.
Gold Requirements:-
Wings of Berk:- 1.20
Meridian of Misery:- 1.05
Thor's Playground:- 2.07
Crown of Alpha:- 1.35
Sweep the Sheep Events:- None of these are really difficult it's just a case of scouting where the sheep are then putting a run together which is most efficient so you have as little time as possible empty handed. Gold requirement on all levels is 12 sheep.
Fire Chase Events:-Simply follow the indicator which will guide you through 20 rings. These are the easiest Training event and you should finish well before time. Gold requirement is all 20 rings.
TOURNEMENT EVENTS
Warrior Races Events 1,3,5 :- Start of the race hit Y repeatedly to Viking Blitz every body and gain the lead. Through the rest of the race keep the A button held down so you are always at maximum speed. Constantly press Y (forget about the weapon pick ups there useless) this will make you Viking blitz if a dragon try's to pass you even if they are not on your screen yet. Whilst this method isn't fool proof I've bad a 90% success rate providing you keep on course and go through all the rings.
Target Blast Event 2:- V easy just follow the indicator to each group of targets and blow them up. Go for the red targets 1st as they are worth way more points. The event ends when all targets are destroyed. Usually around 25-30 pts secures 1st place.
Sheep Drop Event 4:- First to 10 points wins, white sheep are worth 1pt, Black sheep. Again v easier usually every 2-3 laps a single black sheep will spawn away from the normal herds try to get it as you pass by as this usually secures you the win as the AI don't grab the black sheep v often, finish the race with white sheep to reach 10pts.
There are a total of 36 events that you need to achieve a Gold in.
There are 16 training events, four of each of the four different types (Blazing Shot, Sweep the Sheep, Dragon Sprint and Fire Chase). The Dragon Sprints are the most difficult minigames of the entire game as you need to be extremely efficient maneuvering through the various rings as quickly as possible (you can only afford to miss a couple to achieve the Gold time). Using an upgraded Hiccup/Toothless should help make this a little easier but prepare for some serious frustration. For Sweep the Sheep there are extra Sheep, so be sure to scout the area first to make a plan for the best sheep to corral and which ones to skip to reach the required 12 for Gold. Fire Chase requires you to fly through 20 rings in 2:00, but the restrictions are pretty lenient compared to the other challenges. Blazing Shot requires you to hit 24 male Vikings in a limited amount of time without hitting any of the female Vikings. The Vikings stay in the same general area so if you miss one you can just wait until it pops back up. Once you’ve completed all 16 with a Gold standing you will also earn Dragon Mastery.
There are four tournaments with five events each for a total of 20 events that you need to get a Gold in. The easiest of these are the Dragon Race events where you need to capture ten sheep and return them to the base before anyone else. Each sheep is worth 1 point, but black sheep are worth 5 points each. The black sheep show up sporadically and if you capture the first two of them you will always come in first. Be sure not to have another sheep in your claws (they will automatically be picked up by flying right above them) when trying to get a black sheep and just hang out near the island the black sheep pops up on (there will be a marker on your screen leading you to him). After you drop one off, wait by that same island until a second one appears and drop it off for an easy Gold. For Hot Shot, the target practice event, fly towards the targets and hit as many as you can as quickly as you can. The yellow targets are worth 1 points, orange ones are worth 3 points and red ones are worth 5 points. The rider with the most points when all targets are destroyed earns the Gold. There are three Warrior Rally races in each tournament which can pose a challenge due to the cheapness of the competitors. The best strategy is to start off by spamming Viking Blitz () to get out to an early lead. If anyone passes you try to Viking Blitz them again before they get by. If they knock you off your dragon you can try to shoot them off by locking on by holding and hitting them three times in relatively quick succession to knock them off or use some of the power ups (like the anchor or the pail). Persistence is key for these races as sometimes you’ll be winning the entire race only to have a dragon knock you off right at the finish line and have you fall to 4th. If playing splitscreen you can have one less rider to worry about, but your screen size will be greatly reduced making it difficult to fly through the rings to maintain your speed. If you miss too many rings you will be penalized by flying in place for a short period.
