How to unlock the Pretty Fly for a Cacti achievement in Human Fall Flat - Definitive Guide

The hat is located in the area after you destroy the large windows with the magnetic "cannon" in the room with the blue door (if you come from the window)
After destroying the window, you will find a wooden fence with a hole in the area outside. Go through the hole and on the left side you will see a big stone. Take the stone and place it in front of the wall behind you so that you can climb up with it.
Follow the path that takes you into ventilation shafts. Follow these and you should arrive at a ventilation grate. Climb out and right in front of you, there should be a red door. Open this door and you will be back at the beginning of the area with the broken window.
Take the hat (cylinder) from the wall and go outside to the next area. To the right of the house, you can climb up to a rocky area and right in the area there, you will see a cactus (next to the ladder at the house) Put the hat on the cactus and the achievement will unlock.

I put the hat on the cactus...no achievement so I quit game and restarted. Put the hat on the first attempt and still no achievement.

If the achievement is still not unlocking for you, put the hat on the cactus and stand in front of it. it unlocked for me when I stood in front of the cactus for awhile
