How to unlock the Like Butter achievement in Hunted Demons Forge - Definitive Guide
The achievement is fairly simple, as long as you know where to look. You'll be able to pick out and epic weapon easy, as the tall, thin, rectangular cases they're in are very ornate and have purple beams of light swirling around them, and they have magical properties than give you a chance of increased damage against an opponent, or freeze them, etc.
Two of the earliest places to grab some epic weapons are in Chapter 1.1 and 1.2. After you cross the first balance beam in Ch 1 continue on across the wooden platforms until you see an house sticking out to your right. Head over, shoot the sign above the door to the house to enter it, there's one. The next is in Ch 1.2, after you find the dragon's tear in the stone tunnels, keep going, smash down the wooden barrier and get to the puzzle room. Solve the puzzle, go down the long flight of stairs, and an epic weapon will be waiting for you at the bottom in addition to a few crystals and lots of gold. The process of getting this one is outlined in the below video from Achievement Hunter (all cred goes to them for making the video, I'm just passing it along) starting at 3:29.
In addition to those two, after you fight the Tomb boss in ch 1.5 there will be 2 epic weapons for the taking. They're impossible to miss as you have to open the door to get to them to get the boss to appear. If you want a more streamlined playthrough (i.e. no going back and replaying another chapter) this is probably the best method for you.
NOTE: As a reminder, you have to have discovered 6 secret areas in order to pick up a second (or back up weapon as the game describes them). I didn't have 6 until the end of ch 1.3. After I got a checkpoint, I took the epic weapon from 1.2, replayed ch 1.1, and got it the moment I picked up the epic weapon in the house.
ALSO: I can confirm that you can still get this achievement after the magic is drained from the epic weapon and the color fades from it. At the time of this writing I was able to go back to ch 1.1 with a depleted epic weapon, pick up the second epic weapon and the achievement popped.

Just play through the game and when you can pick up weapons check what they are by pressing the select butting and hitting RB and then make sure every slot is full of Rare or better weapons.

In one of the tabs you should be able to view a list of your current weapons and armour at the bottom of the page a box will have details about the weapon and to the far right it will say what level it it. I believe the ranks are crude, rare and epic. You should also be able to tell by the colour of the weapon name (Green for Crude, Purple for Rare I believe). Another hint will also be that most rare or better weapons will be the weapons that allow you to deal extra damage such as lightening and frost.

I have a rare tier 2 in all of my "weapon" slots except my 'backup bow'. I think you need to update this to indicate that you need to unlock your second inventory slot and then have a rare in both your primary weapon and your backup weapon as the achievement has not yet unlocked for me. I have a rare tier 2 in my primary bow, sword, shield and armor. It doesn't sound like you need it in your sword, shield and armor (for E'lara anyway), just your primary and backup weapons.
Please let me know if I'm wrong, because the achievement has yet to unlock.
