How many gearbits are you suppose to have left in your inventory after you´ve collected them all and upgraded every item? I´m getting a little bit confused and frustrated since the achievement hasen´t popped for me yet. At the moment I have 4 "full" gears and 2 gearbits left.

If you have anything collected and bought all the Upgrades you should have 6 Gears and two bits left.

You just stand on the ledge and press Y (or just jump)

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get to this gear bit. I'm pretty sure its my last one.

turns out I already have it anyways. time to figure out which gear bit I marked as collected, when I didn't collect it.

Used a video guide to retrace the entire game. Still missing 4. Haven't done the ultimate dash yet (800) but I got the one behind the 100 chain door. No idea where I'm supposed to find four more. Guess I'm going through the whole map again.

I'm curious: is anyone else missing the symbol indicating a secret at the Gearbit hidden under the trees after the east boss? The PC version apparently had the symbol on the ground, judging from the screenshots I've seen but it's missing from my game and honestly I'm not sure if I picked up the Gearbit itself or if it's missing altogether.

Ok, so this is my issue... on PC you can see the post to hit it. So I've spent almost two hours blind firing at where it should be. Even have walked off the ledge to make sure I can see it and line it up... Still nothing is happening... Anyone have a tip for getting this gear bit in the west below the golden outfit 12 key door?

see the Symbols on the ground? Just jump there (or hold Y to reveal the path) :)

See I dont get that. How can you see it on your screen?!!!! I cant see it. Is it a issue with my resolution or something?

use a weapon with a marker, like the Railgun or the one that I used. You should also just shoot in the direction to hit the pillar

Thats what I have been trying. But I dont get how you can see across the gap on that video while youre standing there on the edge... I cant see across the gap on my screen... do you know if this is a resolution issue or something like its cutting that part off my screen and it looks like im shooting into the nothingness.

I think this only works with Weapons with Laser Marker, but not sure. Do you play with the normal 1080p? Maybe try the Windows 10 Gamesteaming with a PC? If this not helps try info@heart-machine.com

Yes, and even that pillar you have to hit to get to the small floating island before the key island I cant see on my screen but have hit it to make the bridge appear. Something is seriously up.

Yeah, I don't know what's up with this but I was missing 2 Gearbits for a week and today when passing through the north boss room and one of the southern sub-boss rooms, both rooms had 1 Gearbit each lying on the ground. And I went through each of those rooms several times earlier when I was still looking for them.

This game/achievement is definitely glitchy, after searching forever and being only 1 bit away from 6 gears and 2 bits left. I went to a boss area that I've been through several times and there was 3 bits sitting on the ground. I now have seven gears left over on my first play through.

Not totally related to this achievement, but I also just unlocked the achievement for collecting everything. I'm still missing 1 costume and the costume achievement.

These gearbits are tough. I had to play the game 3 times to find them all. One thing I did not realize the first time is if you die in a new area, anything you collected does not save. You will need to recollect it. The map above is only useful in that it tells you where things are not how to get them. YouTube wound up being much more useful.

TeagAles, have you gotten any of the other items where the pillar isn't visible until aiming with a rail gun? If you have, then it does indeed sound like there is some weird issue.

But if not, the trick is to use the rail gun (the one with a green laser sight when aiming with LT) or the red laser. Reason is that you wouldn't be able to see the pillars normally, but when aiming with a rail gun by holding LT, the screen will move slightly further thanks to the gun's range.

A tip that might or might not save a life in 2023 and beyond: be cautious that this can be buggy! After I picked up my last gearbit the achievement didn't unlock, I really did get everything, 6 gears and 2 bits left after buying everything from shops. What I probably should have done was to either die straight away or quit to menu and load back in to collect the last gearbit again in case it might unlock then. Instead my dumbass tried to beat the final boss again, unlocking the hoarder achievement but not this one. Now another collectible playthrough awaits..
