Good news is it is not required to protect all the Hypercores to get this achievement. Simply completing a mission even with just 1 hypercore remaining will continue to progress.
There are 14 levels in the game, I did them alone with bots, just make sure you have some handy turrets and build fortifications on at least 1 hypercore, as the other hypercores get destroyed, all the bots will focus on just the remaining one. It actually isn't as bad, I find getting all Diamond awards far more challenging than this achievement.
