How to unlock the Five victims helped achievement in I Am Alive - Definitive Guide

SPOILER WARNING: Brief story details for the first portions of the game are mentioned below.

The first half of this guide is taken verbatim from my solution to "Three victims helped".

There are a total of 20 victims located throughout the ruins of Haventon. To unlock this achievement, "Five victims helped", you need to help, you guessed it, five of the 20 victims. You'll often run across victims as you go about completing the main story tasks; if you don't pass them directly, you'll often hear them crying out for help. Explore the local area and you should be able to find them.

I helped the following five victims to unlock this achievement:

1. Mother and Wounded Son
On your way to your apartment, you'll encounter your first gang. Once you've dispatched them, you'll pass through a locked gate. Pick up the first aid kit on the ground in the gully you pass through. Up ahead, you'll take a right through an alley; a mother is tending to her injured son there on a bench. Give the son the first aid kit.

2. Asthma Man
After you've dropped Mei off in the safe zone at the mall, you'll need to climb up an exposed shaft to proceed. The victim is located at the bottom of the shaft. You'll hear him coughing before you find him. He needs an inhaler to mitigate his dust-aggravated asthma. The inhaler is at the top of the shaft, behind a partition. Note that once you pick up the inhaler, you have to go down a different shaft than the one you came up. Return to the man and give him the inhaler.

3. Rubble-pinned Gang Member
When crossing over to the supply crate building (before fetching the two cans for the service elevator), you'll need to jump over a gap. If you look down before jumping, you'll see a first aid kit down below. Jump across, climb down to the first aid kit, and keep it. After retrieving the medicine for Mei from the supply crate, you'll make your way back down to the street. On the way, you'll cross over to the building you faced several gangs in during your earlier ascent. Before climbing down to some scaffolding, you should hear the cries of a man caught under some rubble on the floor below you. This is the same man (the one with the rotten, infected arm) that one of the gangs was preparing to abandon when you stumbled upon them. He needs the first aid kit to help amputate his arm. Give him the first aid kit.

4. Rubble-pinned Man
Once you get back down to the dust covered street, make your way to the upper right corner of the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Main Street (use your map). You'll hear a man calling for help. He's located in between a hut and a forklift and is pinned under some rubble. To free him, you need to find a battery to power the forklift. The battery is located on top of a nearby building (the building on the left if you head back to Main Street). Climb the pipes and ledges; the battery is on the roof on the side of the building overlooking Main Street. Take the battery back to the forklift and free the man.

5. Rooftop Old Couple
Starting from the roof where you found the forklift battery, cross over to the next building (to the east/right on your map) via the top of the fire escape. You'll come across an old couple enjoying the cool, dust-filled morning air. The woman would like the last bottle of wine in the city. The bottle is located in a small hut located in a small plaza immediately north of the Harbor Center (use your map). Climb the water tower next to the couple, and slide down to Crockett Street. Pass through an alley across from where you landed and you should find the wine bottle in one of the huts to your left. To return to the couple, you'll need to take the long route around south (at least, I haven't found a shorter path yet) via 2nd Avenue. Once you get back, give the wine to the old woman.

If you miss any of these victims, you should be able to help any other five victims to unlock this achievement as well. Additionally, helping any three of these victims will unlock the "Three victims helped" achievement, just as helping any one of these victims will unlock the "My first rescue" achievement.

If you have any comments, suggestions, and/or improvements, feel free to leave a note.
