How to unlock the Raconteur achievement in I Am Bread - Definitive Guide
This achievement is not nearly as hard as the ratio might make you think. For each level, I will be writing out a brief text guide which will cover any optional or alternate techniques not shown in the accompanying A++ run video. If the level has additional achievements tied to it, a second video guide will be posted, showing how to achieve those. I will also be giving the level a difficulty rating out of 5, based on personal experience with the level. For the sake of understanding the difficulties, the easiest Story Mode level will be defaulted to a 1, and the hardest will be defaulted to a 5. Everything else will be based around those
A few times in the text parts of this guide, you'll see me mentioning "SIFing". SIF stands for "Small Item Flying". Basically, when you are holding a small object with the bread, you can launch yourself incredibly far and with a surprising amount of control midair. I utilize the absolute hell out of this during my runs, and you should to, as it removes an incredible amount of stress regarding Time and Edibility, which are the only two factors in A++ runs.
Level 1: Kitchen - Difficulty: 1/5
Upon spawning, destroy either the ceramic butter lid or jam jar, and use a shard of either glass or ceramic to SIF to the counter. Be careful to avoid hitting the ants that are surrounding the ham. Follow this up with a SIF launch to the stove and turn on the burner, by gripping the knob and turning it, or nudging it. Sit on the burner until you reach 100% toasted, then flip quickly. Don't wait to flip, as going too far above 100% will damage your edibility, and you want to finish with 100% edibility. Upon reaching 100% toasted on the other side, quickly click in and together to end the level.
Level 2: Lounge - Difficulty: 2/5
This level is easier than it lets off in the video, simply because my initial SIF launch wasn't too great. I'd recommend trying to launch onto the brown chair, then onto the heater, but it is possible to make it all the way to the heater with one launch. From there, hit the button on the side of the heater, and then lower yourself over the other side of the heater onto the grate. Make sure your grip is full before you head down onto the grate, as the toasting process will use up most of the grip, but there is enough grip to toast both sides without needing to worry about losing grip and falling.
Level 3: Bedroom - Difficulty: 5/5
In my opinion, this is the hardest level in Story Mode, which is simply because I find the iron to be a bit finicky. You may get it on your first try, who knows. This level requires you to work your way around the room. Destroy the bowl next to you and SIF your way over to the windowsill, then the dresser. From here, climb up the wall to the shelf, then up to the higher shelf. Destroy the jar and grab a piece of glass. In the video, I coated myself in jam, though this isn't necessary, I was just testing something. Using the glass, SIF over to the ironing board. You're going to need to use the iron to toast yourself, which is quite awkward to do. If the heat is too concentrated to one region of the toast, you will get burnt and lose edibility. I found the best way to prevent this, was to lay horizontally in front of the iron, and do NOT grip the iron. Once at 100% fling off the iron and onto the board. Then flip around and toast the other side.
Level 4: Bathroom - Difficulty: 4/5
This level isn't super difficult, it's just that the heater is a bit awkward to get started. From the spawn, climb out of the cupboard and up the cupboard door. Hop down onto the window sill and destroy any one of the many destructible objects. Grab a shard and SIF over the toilet and onto the table. I overshot a bit in the video but saved it. Then, launch yourself over to the far table on the opposite end of the bathtub. Here, you want to click the button on the hairdryer, which will be a small trigger on the side of the hairdryer furthest from the bathtub. From this spot, launch onto the heater and work your way over to the far side. You're going to need to work your way down and rotate the knob as much as possible. The easiest way to do this is to hop onto the baseboard trim, then reach out and grab the knob, then swing around. Once the red light turns on, you're set. Climb onto the top of the heater and toast yourself to completion.
Level 5: Garage - Difficulty: 3/5
Start by grabbing one of the many available shards surrounding you, and make your way up the inside of the trash bin. Launch over to the large stack of cardboard boxes in the middle of the room. From here, you can either SIF launch directly over to the lawnmower, and then climb the wall up to the ignition button, or you can SIF over onto the workbench, and then SIF over to the ignition button. That button is located at the top of the lawnmower handle, and be sure to grab the handle once you click the button. The lawnmower will zoom across the room. When it stops, hop down onto the lawnmower engine, and use it to toast yourself.
Level 6: Garden - Difficulty: 2/5
Personally, my favorite level to play. Start off by launching down onto the lower horizontal wood beam of the fence. Work your way leftward, all the way to the shed. Climb up the shed and head over to the toolbox. This part is a bit tricky, but trust me when I say it's a HUGE payoff once you get the set up. You want to hop into the toolbox and grab a nail. Do not grab the screwdriver, as it is too heavy to use for this. Once you have the nail, position yourself near the edge of the shed, and then launch yourself in the direction towards the car. The launch will be good enough to launch you all the way to the grill on the complete opposite side of the driveway. Aim for the shelf above the grill. If you don't think you're gonna make it, feel free to land on the car or the table, and launch again. Once you get to the shelf, grab a match and light it by touching it against the matchbox, then hop down onto the grill. Let go of the match, then toast yourself.
Level 7: Petrol Station - Difficulty: 3/5
This level is pretty straight forward, but lighting the tank at the end can be a bit tricky. To start off, grab the fork in the garbage truck where you spawn, and SIF over to the shelves on the right, along the side of the store. From here, climb up the wall to the top shelf where the box of lighters is. Grab a lighter and SIF over to the propane tank that is lying on the ground. Here, smack the lighter against the knob at the top of the tank, to cause the tank to ignite. Be careful through, as the tank can roll and flop you onto the ground. After a few seconds, a cutscene will start and you will be toasted to perfection. Perfecting this level will unlock you the achievement.

in level 3 " If the heat is too concentrated to one region of the toast, you will get burnt and lose edibility." this game mechanic is hard to handle, you lose edibility not only using the iron but also with the lamp, laying horizontally seem to not be a consistent solution but thank you for share this guide it's really helpful, surely I still need more skill and luck, can feel that eventually I'll get it.

If you have a look at the rating screen that pops up when you finish a level you will see that there are 4 factors used to determine the rank; edibility, toast quality, deliciousness and time. Out of these 4, only 2 factors actually affect your rank which are time and edibility.
Toast quality really means nothing. Edibility can reach very low values and it will still stay at 70 or 71 and these values themselves mean nothing. Toasting both sides of the bread to exactly 100%, using different heat sources, exposing the bread to too much heat, making the bread as dirty as possible. Most of the time this value will remain at 70 and it will never affect the rating so just ignore it.
Deliciousness is important for those who want to play the game without using any glitches because it increases the time limit required for A++ considerably.
Edibility is a factor of time only and is not directly affected by deliciousness. This means that each time you add something delicious to your bread, the edibility value will be adjusted with the new time limit.
Each of the toppings available in the game will give a value of deliciousness to the bread:
Jam: 500 pt (both sides of the bread are completely covered)
Butter: 300 pt (both sides of the bread are completely covered)
Baked Beans: 366 pt (all the bowl content)
Potato Chips: 320 pt (all the chips in the plastic container)
Candies: 255 pt (one bowl and whatever around it, 15 for each)
There are more foods that can give deliciousness but will also take away chunks of edibility so avoid anything other than these.
For each 100 point of deliciousness you get 40 seconds added to the time limit for A++, but you can't tell how much low the edibility can get to attain A++ because it all depends on your final time.
Also, there is no limit to deliciousness value, so if you get all the toppings in the kitchen (1486 pt), your time can go up to 12:23 minutes and you will still get A++ at 100% edibility (original time for A++ is 2:29:999 at 100% edibility).
The problem with toppings is that there are not many of them in the game. In fact backed beans and chips only exist in the kitchen, butter and candies can only be found in 2 levels, and only jam can be found in 6 levels.
In our runs we won't need any toppings because there is no reason to lose ediblity when using the flying bread glitch on any level other than the "Garden". The grill in the garden will sometimes heat up parts of the bread more than others and burn it, but with a little luck the A++ can easily be achieved.
One last thing to mention here is that there is a curve relating time to edibility (deliciousness only adds up to the time limit). So for each time there is a value of edibility required for the A++. Note that sometimes at the same time and edibility you may get A or A++ depending on the hidden decimals of time and edibility. The curve hits 97% and 98% edibility pretty quickly, so always try to avoid dropping below 100%.
As mentioned earlier the "epilogue" level which starts automatically after finishing Petrol Station level is not required for any trophies, so feel free to quit right away.
Kitchen
Time required for A++: Less than 2:30 at edibility = 100% and deliciousness = 0
Video Guide
Start off by holding and press to get the slice out of the loaf, break the jam jar and take a shard from it.
Beware of the ants on the counter, they will deplete your edibility if you come near them.
Either nudge the second knob or hold it and turn it to turn on the burner.
Lounge
Time required for A++: Less than 4:10 at edibility = 100% and deliciousness = 0
Video Guide
You can jump directly from the table to the heater and then climb it.
There is no need to press the heater switch, moving the bread over it will switch it on.
Make sure you let go the attached shard and allow the grip meter to completely refill before sliding down the heater. Make two flips downward or one flip and quickly drop the bread and hold it again.
Bedroom
Time required for A++: Less than 3:10 at edibility = 100% and deliciousness = 0
Video Guide
On the ironing board lay the bread horizontally alongside the iron and grip the nearest corner to the iron face like in the video and turn it then flip it on the iron. Do not grip the iron and when one side of the bread is 100% toasted go back to your original position using the same corner you used before so that you don't get confused which side has been toasted and which has not.
Bathroom
Time required for A++: Less than 3:10 at edibility = 100% and deliciousness = 0

Video Guide 2
Pin one corner of the bread to the cabinet door .. the farther you are from the door pivot, the easier it will open.
Be careful not to touch the gel droplets on the bathtub side when jumping toward it, you need edibility higher than 95% (at average time) to get A++.
Using the hair dryer is much easier than using the radiator but you will need to be precise with it. Switch it on first then jump and lay your bread in front of it.
You need to finish toasting quickly, else the already toasted side will be heated more and you will lose edibility. You could toast the first side up to 95% and then just nudge after toasting the other to 100%. See the second video to understand what I mean.
Garage
Time required for A++: Less than 3:10 at edibility = 100% and deliciousness = 0
Video Guide
You can jump to the lawnmower directly from the garbage bin and you can even reach its switch if your jump is high enough.
Let go the attached shard once you grip the wall.
Watch the lawnmower as it swings back and forth, you want to let go of it when it's swinging towards the engine.
Garden
Time required for A++: Less than 6:20 at edibility = 100% and deliciousness = 0
Video Guide
Lay your bread horizontally on the wood beam and move it using the upper left corner of the bread, keep alternating between and or and till you reach the shed.
When you reach the shed, stand up and flip your bread onto the shed and hold it as you hit it to grip it.
Get a bolt or nail from the toolbox, the best spot to get one is shown in the picture below:
While flying towards the shelf on the other side of the garden, keep holding and stay close to the right side, if you go left a little you will fall to the ground. If you don't keep fully pushed, you will be knocked down too but you may be able to grip the car. If you grip the car, climb it and launch yourself to the shelf being careful not to touch the water on the car roof.
On the shelf, get a match and make its head touch the matchbox side then drop it with you onto the grill. Try not to touch the match flame and fling over to the spot where I toasted mine in the video. This is the best spot to get a 100% toast, though it's not guaranteed that your toast won't get burned. If it did then you have no choice but to start over.
Some think that toasting one side to 50% then flipping the bread and toasting the other to 50% then flipping it till both sides reach 100% will not burn it but that is not correct, it's all luck based. Watching the status of toasting at the bottom right corner won't help either because the grill heats up too fast.
Anyway, if you are fast enough then edibility can reach 91% and you will still get A++, so don't restart right away when edibility start dropping.
Petrol Station
Time required for A++: Less than 7:30 at ediblity = 100% (no toppings in this level)
Video Guide
Get a lighter then jump and land on top of one of the 4 propane tanks.
If you don't land on the tank, then you should know that the cap of the propane tank needs to be removed, you do that be hammering it (flipping your bread hard onto it).
