If you're like me and you didn't have a controller or friends to play with there is an alternative in Single player.

From the main menu go Local play--Single player--level 1-1 (this will be the only one available)

Make sure you win the first game (1-1). After you've won the first game choose level 2-1. In level 2-1 you'll be playing a 1v2. Simply let the AI's run around with the ball and they should naturally get it in.

If you're having trouble try getting the ball and throwing it down underneath your own goal, the AI's should chase it down and quickly past it to one another in order to score a quick goal. When they pass it to one another you will see a doted line and it'll say on your screen "Alley Oop!".

Edit: Please understand you might not achieve this in one game! It took me 2 game attempts in order for it to unlock.

From Wikipedia: "An alley-oop in basketball is an offensive play in which one player throws the ball near the basket to a teammate who jumps, catches the ball in mid air and immediately dunks it."

This needs to be done in Single player with two controllers. It's also doable in multiplayer but you need at least 3 players so you can get 2 players to join the same team.

Go near the goal of your opponent and hop on to the small platform.
Now use your second controller to get the ball and hop on the bigger platform to the right of where your other player is.
Then push down to start the pass BUT before you release it, press on your main player to jump and when your player is in the air, release on the other controller to complete the pass.

Now you need to kick the ball to the goal with or while still being in the air to complete your Alley Oop.

The description of this achievement is a bit misleading, you do not need to perform an Alley Oop yourself, meaning that this can be achieved while playing through the "story" mode. Just play against a team with atleast 2 opposing players and if you let them have the ball, eventually they should complete an alley oop between each other and the achievement should pop.

Note: this could take several games to get, it is much easier to get if you have a friend to play with, but if you do not, or you do not want to wait for someone, you can get this while playing solo easily enough.

I've managed this playing with two controllers on the same team and with a bunch of computers playing on the highest difficulty.

To complete without a second controller start a local game and place a team of computer players against noone and set the computer difficulty to full. I managed to see at least 3 Alley Oops in the first round alone.

With two controllers you need one on the small white platform between the goal and ball and the other player to stand with the ball on the grey block to the side of the balls starting position.

Have the white platform guy jump up high and then press x to pass the ball with the stationary player and x again with the jumping controller as soon as the ball is caught.

I managed 3 out of 4 goals to be alley oops with the 4th one pressing too late and landing before the shot was taken.
