Deep Thought
When scoring you get more points based on how you do it, for instance you get:
1 point walking it in
2 points throwing right in front of it
3 points if you are far enough or below it throwing up into it.
If you go far back enough and throw it (towards the middle) you can get 5 points
-Bouncing off things increases the multiplier
-If you go over 42 points you can't go down points so you must restart.
-There is 4 rounds in a match so you have to finish all 4 for it to be over, have the 42 points by the end of the 4th round.
-Can be done online in matchmaking, with a friend in a private match, or even locally alone (you don't need an enemy to start the match, hold
button until match starts while in local lobby).

I have no idea what I am doing wrong but it won't unlock. I am scoring 42 and letting the time run out and it just won't give it to me

I wonder if this achievement is a reference to Thoughty2 channel on YouTube, or the band Level 42?

To get this achievement you need to finish the game with a score of 42. EXACTLY 42 so be careful to not go over 42 during the game.

This is an easy 100 GS.
1. Choose Local Play
2. Start Game
3. Pick a character
4. Score 42 points exactly
5. Sit there and let the rest of the time run out.
You can litterly do this playing 1v0. It is that easy.

If any of the other solutions worked for you you can simply start a local game by yourself. Go to Local Pkay. Then Start Game and press & hold the button to start the match faster. This way is easier to achieve the exact 42 points since it's a game with only one player (you) and each round last 1 min. and a half. I did it by throwing the ball close to the goal for 2 points each and as I was closer I just walked in the goal for 1 point. You can mix it up with other MLG shots or multipliers but be careful not to score more than 42 points in the whole match.
