How to unlock the Band of Champions achievement in Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms - Definitive Guide

events begin approximately every 3 weeks. they last about 2 weeks, with a week in between. completing area 50 in the event adventure will unlock the champion. the first event for console will be Wintershield Year 2 and will include two unlockable champions.

you can also unlock event champions through Time Gates, which open for 72 hours, every three weeks (during the off-event week). you are offered 3 champions to unlock or earn gear for and there is a guarantee to have at least one you have not yet unlocked.

this works out to about 3 champs every month. locked champions are available for purchase with cash in the store if as well.

I'm not sure if I got lucky, or if everyone can get this, but I signed up for the newsletter, and I received a chest that gave me a champion. I immediately checked my achievement tracker after receiving the champion, and sure enough, it went up. Whether I was lucky or not, I recommend signing up for the newsletter since it seems to be a source for event champions.

If you're wondering how I got this specific achievement, yes, I spent money to get the remaining champions needed. But I can assure you that my tracker went up from the champion I received from the newsletter chest prior to blowing a bunch of money due to impatience on my part.

I signed up for the newsletter and got Hitch, but I didn't receive the bonus today. I put in a ticket with the devs. Hopefully they'll respond. But they posted they wouldn't be addressing non purchase related issues until after the holidays in January. :( Hope they retroactively award me the champion I missed out on.

Thanks for the info Mythril. Yeah I'm hopeful they'll sort the issue out. Apparently others are having the same problem.

I feel blind. How/where do I enter the code for Hitch? I don't see a redeem code option anywhere on the xbox menus.

You don't redeem codes on the console version. It should pop up telling you that you've unlocked him when you next load up the game after signing up for the newsletter. The same prompt should happen when promotional items are awarded to you. Like today if you signed on you should get a new chest related to the weekend bonus.

BloodGodAlucard how does that work? I signed up online and got the code and realized that was wrong. Then saw the signup in-game and used that and received an email saying he would be in-game next time I load, however it never asked for my Gamertag or console. So kinda confused since nothing has popped yet.

@BigWiIIieStyle Did you sign up for the newsletter through the game on the xbox browser or online on a PC? I did the PC sign up and it didn't work. I had to do it on the console. Maybe that's your issue? If that's not the case, try submitting a ticket in the game to the devs. Hope that helps.

Yes. Go to the support option in the game. It'll take you to the web browser where you'll be able to fill out the ticket form. Hope you get it resolved. They fixed my issue for me. :)

Sometimes the tracker doesn't update until you close and reboot the game. It seems to always be delayed. But relaunch the game and it should be the correct percentage.

After I got Hitch from my ticket he didn't unlock the achievement or show progress either. Got both the Event champions to get the 1 achievement and shows 75% on the 3. So they might have bugged it somehow. Have done a hard quit while not in a mission several times with no luck.

Hitch is considered to be an evergreen champion, not an event champion, so he and the other evergreen champions, such as Drzzt, do not count.

yeah seems there were some issues with the newsletters. they have to have two types of emails sent out now, those with codes for PC and those for other platforms. and then those have to be linked to the proper gamertag, psn id, or ios/android account. I am pretty confident they will fix your account though. sorry it didn't work as it should, but honestly you are not missing anything for now with an ungeared binwin. you'd likely just keep using Nayeli in most cases.

This is not a quick achievement, taking at least 2 months + 1 day, unless you want to throw cash at it (decidedly not recommended, unless you're a multi-millionaire wink).

Every few weeks there is a new event starting, each has 3 champions to unlock, and the further you get into the game the easier they become, so unless you concentrate on them, you might miss some... Just be aware that it can be confusing for new players as it shows them as Year 1, 2 & 3, so make sure you work to unlock each one - you only have to get to area 50, and it gives the option to end it as soon as you get to area 51.

Once you've been playing a while, you'll end up with a base money increase on some areas, plus having a familiar makes this a breeze - once you have both, start pumping levels into the click damage, you can pick up the heroes for the sake of it, but they're not necessary. Generally you'll get to about area 60-70 before you have to have the heroes, so 50 is easier to hit.

As soon as you get 1, move down to the next one, if you're going well each should take about 20-30 minutes - but, once you have all 3 you have to wait for the next event, which is several weeks away. Just as an example about the difficulty, this took me 4 months to get as I thought I could only get 1 per event at the start. laugh

Be patient, and as soon as the new event opens, grab your new champions, and away you go!
Note that new champions only replace existing ones, some have better features, and it depends on your party setup, but you might end up playing with different ones to get the best party for you for longer runs (higher areas). Also, getting the right gear can help a champions become MUCH stronger, so it might be advantageous to use older champions as they're better equipped...

There are events that happen every couple weeks. In the events, you have an opportunity to unlock new champions. Most of the time there will be 3 different events and they'll yield 3 new champions. They are always pretty easy for the first couple levels. The first one will always be the one that will unlock the champion. Most of the time it is just beating level 50.

There are also Time Gate Pieces that randomly drop during levels. Once you collect 6 of them, you can open a Time Gate. These Time Gates will also allow you to unlock a champion as well. Same principal applies here as well. You will need to beat level 50 to unlock the champion.

You need to collect 9 heroes from any time-limited events. Events in the game take place approximately every three weeks. They last two weeks, with a one-week break in between. You need to reach level 50 in the event to unlock the event hero.

During the week of break between events, the time gate opens. This gate can be opened and I use gate fragments at any time, you need 6 fragments. Fragments drop from bosses with a low chance and have a delay between drops. During such an event, you can choose one of three champions, one will always be the one you don’t have yet. The champion will also become yours after completing level 50 in the event.

It is worth noting that in many events at level 50 there are quite difficult bosses that require special tactics - simply “calling out” them like everyone else will not work.

Based on everything written above, you can receive on average from 3 to 4 heroes per month, so to receive this prize you will need 2-3 months. The receiving process can be speeded up if you subscribe to the developer’s newsletter, available from the game menu, for which event heroes are periodically sent out for free. And of course, you can buy many heroes in the store for real money.
