Unlocking the achievement Ornithology requires you to obtain your companion Phosphor, by completing the side quest "Bolt from the Blue". Phosphor has a total of 17 different skins you can acquire throughout your gameplay. Each skin will change Phosphor's appearance and provides a different perk. You do not need to equip each skin.

Below is a list of the locations for each skin. A majority of them are unlocked by beating legendary monsters. The final 8 of which are not part of any quest and you simply can go to their location to fight them anytime you feel strong enough.

note: DLC skins that can be purchased for visual customization only do not count towards the achievement.

Phosphor the Phoenix - Acquired automatically by completing the "Bolt from the Blue" side quest. The quest will trigger automatically after reaching the main island. You will see a bolt of lighting strike a bird. This skin grants a stamina orb when Phosphor's attacks hit an enemy.

Phosphor of Lit Cinders - Complete the side-quest "A debt repaid" within Phosphor's questline. Adds 150% damage to Phosphor's attack.

Tarnished Phosphor - Complete Athena's side quest has you enter the vault "Hound of Hades". Default the legendary Cerberos inside. Refills 1 health chunk of when Phosphor's attack hits.

Phosphor of Love Ablaze - Defeat the Legendary Brute of Tartaros in Ares's side quest "Pay-Bagock". Freezes enemies for 5 seconds when hit with Phosphor's attack.

Molten Phosphor - Complete Myth Challenge section on the Herme's Heroic Task Board. Stealth attacks will trigger a Phosphor attack.

Phosphor Of Zeus's Lightning - Aphrodite will have you defeat 4 legendary beasts within the Valley of the Eternal Springs as part of her side quest "Saving Our Hides". This skin is unlocked by defeating the Nemean Lion. Phosphor's Clone explode and deals 1392 damage to enemies nearby.

Phosphor The Lovebird - Aphrodite will have you defeat 4 legendary beasts within the Valley of the Eternal Springs as part of her side quest "Saving Our Hides". This skin is unlocked by defeating Slayer Of Adonis, The Legendary Boar. Adds +150% stun with Phosphor's Attack.

Phosphor Of Companionship - Aphrodite will have you defeat 4 legendary beasts within the Valley of the Eternal Springs as part of her side quest "Saving Our Hides". This skin is unlocked by defeating the Kallisto, the Legendary Bear. Lethal stealth attack does not cancel Phosphor's cloak.

Phosphor The Stonegazer - Aphrodite will have you defeat 4 legendary beasts within the Valley of the Eternal Springs as part of her side quest "Saving Our Hides". This skin is unlocked by defeating Alektryon, the Legendary Rooster. Reduces stamina consumption when using Phosphor's Cloak by 50%.

Phosphor Of Passion - This skin is unlocked by defeating the Nightmare Of Daidalos, The Legendary Minotaur. He is located northwest of Eros's Haven in the Valley of the Eternal Springs. Adds 2 hits to Phosphor's Attack.

Phosphor The Patriarch - This skin is unlocked by defeating Kelaino, The Legendary Dark Vulture, located in Grove of Kleos area southwest of Gaia's Soul in the Valley of the Eternal Springs. Stealth attacks create an explosion while Phosphor's Cloak is active.

Phosphor The Evilglare - This skin is unlocked by defeating the Legendary Gorgon Of Dread located on a small island northwest of the Archives. Phosphor's Cloak explodes and freezes enemies for 10 seconds once they are hit by it.

Phosphor Of Heat's Core - This skin is unlocked by defeating the Pyrakmon, The Legendary Cyclops located in the Forgelands, just southwest of the Atmos Mechaniko. Phosphor's Shockwave has an increased area of effect by 50%.

Carnivorous Phosphor - This skin is unlocked by defeating the Ophinikos Of Legend also located in the Forgelands a bit northwest of Hera's Throne. Phosphor's Clone explodes and inflicting 1856 stun damage.

Burnished Phosphor - This skin is unlocked by defeating Talos The Rebuilt, Legendary Automaton located on the boarder of the Forgelands and War's Den just north of the Defying Kronos Vault. Phosphor's Attack will do triple damage during Typhon's Rage.

Phosphor Of Zeus's Skies - This skin is unlocked by defeating Perversion Of Echidna, The Legendary Chimera located in War's Den near the Herakles Wraith Vault. Stealth attacks slow down time when it hits while Phosphor's Cloak is active.

Phosphor Automated - This skin is unlocked by defeating The Many-Handed, The Legendary Hekatonchires located on the southeast section of the King's Peak island north of the Forgelands. Phosphor's Clone is now a heavy object.
