How to unlock the Potion Professional achievement in Immortals Fenyx Rising - Definitive Guide

This one's a grind. You're going to need a ton of golden ambers for this to fully upgrade the potions. To upgrade, click on the purple vase in the overworld or at your home base at Valley of Eternal Spring. It's in the middle and has a "skill tree" of sorts for each individual potion. This was my last achievement and there are a couple of ways you can go. The gameplay method is just by opening every regular chest you can find as they grant 3 ambers each. Epic Chests or ones that are guarded do not. Don't waste time like I did. They are also found in trees so anytime you pass by a tree and see a glow near the base, swing away with the axe to cut it down and pick up the amber. This brings me to the method I used. Find any group of trees that you can cut down with the axe, and start swinging. It doesn't matter if you see the glow or not. Sometimes, there will still be an amber at the bottom. Cut down as many as you can within a small radius of where you're at. After you're done cutting, pick up all the ambers on the ground and go to your inventory menu and press up to Quicksave. After this, load the save you just made and repeat this process. Sometimes, you will get lucky and get a 3 to 5 ambers in a single go. Sometimes, nothing. For reference, I needed 87 ambers after completing all other achievements, and using this method it took me a solid hour of farming. I used a spot in Clashing Rocks on the furthest south eastern island where there was a ton of trees grouped together. Don't go too far out of your way to knock down trees. The key is to find a group of say, 10 to 15 trees and keep using them over and over.

Notes-According to Glitterlicks and Flatline in the comments, The Gates of Tataros seem to be a viable/good spot for doing this too.

There is a chest piece called "Love's Embrace" that gives a 30% chance to gather an extra ingredient which helps a ton with farming amber. I can't remember where I got it but if you save this achievement for last then you will likely already have it.

You can also do Hermes' daily quests to earn Electrum which can be traded on certain days for Golden Amber at the rate of 6 Golden Amber for 75 Electrum

Came to put that in Dirtgrub. I needed 130 ambers so luckily I had that torso. Helps immensely. Cheers thanks for the farming tip OP

Once you get to the end of the game (you'll know when), take the time to collect as many regular chests as possible. Then to get the rest of the amber you need, return to the area where you started the game. It has a bunch of scorched trees and its easy to see the glow at their base. I ran around that area for 20 mins and collected 60+ amber - enough to finish up the potions tree.

To add to what @Zombiephobia said, I would recommend collecting any regular chests you find as you are playing through the game to avoid the cleanup at the end. If you have all the regular chests, you will not need to spend much time chopping trees to finish.

I found it quicker to chop trees on Clashing Rocks as suggested, however I wouldn't bother chopping down ever one. Wastes too much time, I have seen amber in non glowing trees but not often enough to make it worth while. Instead focus on the glowing ones, make it nigth so it's easier to see and go to the area with the big lyre, there are a tonne of trees and I was getting maybe 15-20 per 3 minute run, using the quicksave as recommended in the guide.

Hey G, apparently I got lucky with this game, bc a lot of people are having achievement unlock problems. Ubisoft is aware, but the game didn’t sell that well. A patch could be incoming, but idk how soon bc of poor sales.

I chopped a little over 100 trees the whole game, got probably 99% of the chests and I was missing 20 amber. So yeah...chop those trees whenever you can. laugh

This is bugged. I made a save right before and then did the final potion upgrade and nothing happened except the achievement for upgrading the entire forge. So frustrating! Between this and the wing achievement I’m missing two.

OK, I don’t think this one is bugged. I think what is happening is people are confusing upgrading your potion pouch. You need to upgrade your potions, not your pouch to get this achievement. I didn’t even know you could upgrade your potions (the arrow icon with the circles when you go to the potion creation) and I’m 40+ hours in! 😂

OP - you may want to point that out since people think it’s bugged.

Also, Gates of Tartaros seems to be the best area to farm Golden Amber. The trees seem a little more plentiful compared to other areas of the map. I would note that in the guide.

I also want to note that every week on the ubisoft connect app, there are challenges that can give you crafting materials. Usually there will be a challenge that will reward you with 30 golden amber.

Ok, I’ll add the suggestion in the solution.

FYI, armor that gives a change at extra ingredients works on amber. That's a 30% chance to get 2 instead of 1 in a tree.

Big ups to CheerfulHawk14 for the connect app tip, had a bunch of challenges already done with crafting materials waiting.

My current strat for this was to finish all the other achievements, then run around getting all of the easy to find normal chests then on NG+ you seem to start with 30 golden amber anyway plus you can turn in the missions for getting ambrosia and the mounts instantly for another 8 then go and farm some more easy normal chests to finish off the remainder of the amber

Great tip for Clashing Rocks. I used New Game + and did that

I'm going to echo what GlitterLicks said. Gates of Tartaros seems to be the place to harvest this end game. I could pull in 50 pretty easily in a trip around the zone, which takes about 15 minutes. Didn't knock down ever tree hoping for the extras either. Just hit the ones that are glowing and move on to the next one.

I preferred getting amber by collecting normal chests. At the end of the game I only needed 22 ambers.

I found a really good spot for tree ambers. It's inside the most eastern part of "Gates of Tartaros". There are lots of charred trees that have amber in it and sometimes amber was just lying on the ground. Got around 6-8 before saving and loading. Took 5min to get my remaining 22 ambers.

To unlock this achievement you need to upgrade every node in each tree for each potion (Health, Attack, Defense, & Stamina):

To do so will take a total of 308 Golden Amber. As mentioned in previous guides, it's highly encouraged that you collect all Regular Chests throughout your playthrough to cut down on any grinding you may have to due post-game. Each chest rewards you with 3 Golden Amber.

For chest locations, you can use this interactive map: https://mapgenie.io/immortals-fenyx-rising/maps/golden-isle

It's also encouraged that you chop down any glowing trees that you pass by throughout your playthrough. Doing so will help you with:

Glowing trees look like this towards the base:

As mentioned in previous comments, once you obtain the Chest Piece "Love's Embrace" it will help with farming the necessary Golden Amber. Wearing the chest piece occasionally rewards the wearer with 2 Golden Amber, as opposed to 1.

Here are directions on how and where to find "Love's Embrace" chest piece: https://www.gameclubz.com/immortals-fenyx-rising-aphrodite-a...'s,Adonis's%20Fall%20Vault%20of%20Tartaros.

The starting island has one of the best farming locations that I have found for your pre or post-game farming. Fast travel to "Messenger of the Gods" and there are plenty of patches of dead trees all around the island within short distances of each other with minimal enemies to fight.

I was left with around 20 amber missing after picking up all the chests on the island (except the ones in Gates of Tartaros, as it is a pain to pinpoint the location with the fog and the map doesn't show you the locations while the fog is there even after you discovered the chest). With the chests in that area you should have enough to buy everything. The guide is solid, I used the same spot to farm the rest, it is just easier/faster the collect the chests on the way to other tasks/quests :)

Adding to this description for the location - the area around Messenger of the Gods has about 4-5 "groves" of trees, if you start on the ones directly below the fast travel point (kill the boars that spawn there), collect from the "glowing" trees and move to the next grove, by the time you're at about the third one over, the ones at the first one will have respawned - I spent about 30-40 minutes there and collected around 100 Golden Amber, which was boosted by wearing Love's Embrace armour

Compared to the other gude, there is no saving and loading, it was just cycling around and chopping down trees, just be careful that you don't get too many - I almost over-ran and luckily had 1 not-purchased potion boost, so ended up needing another 10 to complete smile
