Shortly after entering the first window in the first mission, there will be a book on a red box. Picking up the book will allow you to spend credits on an ability.
Press the back/share button and tab over to the "Book" tab and you can spend your currency on the first ability popping the achievement!

See Bookworm (20G) and / or Bookman (100G). When you pick up an adventure book, just press

If you missed the book on the first level, you can pick this up during the mad priest which is activated by Catherines Letter near the camera.
You will arrive at a room with a safe if you follow the prompts.
In the safe, code 4471, is a book. Once you have it read it and select your upgrade and you will have the achievement.
