How to unlock the Free Will Sacrifice achievement in Infernax - Definitive Guide
EDIT: Goharoth has posted a guide that details the karma gains and losses from each quest and event. I wrote this guide very early in the game's life and didn't have this information available, so please refer to Goharoth's guide for specific changes in karma per action.
This one is a bit tricky, as you have to perform enough evil actions to commit to the evil form of your character (changing him so he uses the longsword and dark armor) while leaving enough righteous actions so he can move back towards a good moral alignment.
I can confirm that this achievement does not simultaneously unlock with 'A Good Day to Die', the achievement for completing a good playthrough.
IMPORTANT: As far as I can tell, once the protagonist turns evil you are forever locked out from completing the good alignment quests given by soldiers in the Arkos and Kastski garrisons, no matter how many 'good' choices you make. This limits the amount of options you have for increasing your good moral alignment. Avoid doing any quests (other than the ones I specify) that affect your alignment if you can. There is definitely some wiggle room here, but it is difficult to determine which quests affect morality and by how much as the game doesn't provide the player with any sort of progress bar. Not doing these quests will limit the amount of gold you have available early on, making things more difficult. You can grind for money or use cheat codes to offset this, if you prefer. It MAY be possible to make some good alignment choices as long as you do the important evil ones (flooding the town, partying with the vagabonds) but I am unsure at this point if that would jeopardize the achievement for this playthrough. Following these steps should unlock the achievement without any issue.
I am also unsure whether corrupting the save shrines counts towards evil morality. To be on the safe side, I recommend choosing one shrine to corrupt and teleporting to it when you want to save.
Here are the steps that I took to unlock the evil form, while making sure to choose no other good or evil options or complete any other good or evil quests:
-Choose to slay the villager at the beginning.
-In Darsov pick up, but do not complete, 'The Red Skeleton' from the innkeeper, and 'The Bridge' and 'Reclaim the Farm' from the soldiers in the Darsov garrison. Avoid the Valeshire bridge at night until you become evil.
-Complete 'Expel the Vagabonds' quest at the east end of Combbelton Cemetery, choosing to stay and drink with them.
-By now you should have the first two castles completed, at a minimum you will need the Precision Strike skill from the second castle in order to enter Arkos.
-Choose to talk to the caged creature during the event that happens near Arkos at night.
-Complete the 'Flood Arkos' quest from the villager in the upper-right house in Arkos. Upon returning to the house, a man in red named Phillipe will be outside. He will give you the password to enter the cultist hideout in Tohan Passage, just above Arkos.
-Inside the hideout, the cultist high priest (the one carrying the spear) will give you a quest, 'First Summoning'. You will need the teleportation spell for this, which is purchased in the elevated house just west of Arkos. You will need the Skycall skill found in the third castle to reach it. With the spell learned, go to Jarvis in the upper-left house in Arkos. Cast teleport while standing near him to complete the quest.
This will turn the main character into a bad guy, complete with sword and new armor. Now it's time to start doing good deeds to move back to a good moral alignment.
I did everything I could think of to move morality in the good direction, so keep in mind that some of these steps may not be necessary, but you can do everything here if you want to be sure:
-Donate 25 gold to the priest near the chest in the church in Darsov.
-Complete 'The Red Skeleton' from the innkeeper in Darsov.
-Choose "Never" when picking up the quest 'Master Arsonist' from the man in the house in the Shores of Upel (only open during the day).
-Complete "Under the Stairs" in the house in the lower west end of Valeshire.
-Complete "Underworld Dreams" in the lower right house in Kastski (the elixir is purchased for 50 coins from the elevated shop in the first part of Kadjanto Peak).
-Complete "Skeleton Neighbor" picked up from the furthest east house on the outskirts of Kastski, choosing to slay the skeleton.
-Defeat the skeleton boss and free the wizard from the cage on the stone bridge in Kadjanto Peak (this event happens after slaying the skeleton in "Skeleton Neighbor".
EricBadger discovered that the Familiar spell needs to be purchased in order for the skeleton to show up. This is only an issue if the infinite jump cheat is used to bypass the switch in Kadjanto).
-Complete "The Bridge", given by a soldier in Darsov garrison. Choose to fight the brigand.
-Complete "Reclaim the Farm", from another soldier in Darsov garrison.
-Complete "Trouble at the Cathedral", having Gregor perform the exorcism.
Note: I appeared to be locked out of getting the Holy Light spell needed for the good outcome of "Possessed Husband" and left it uncompleted. Based on what I'm hearing in the comments, your mileage may vary on whether Holy Light will be available or not depending on when you go to pick it up in the Kadjanto castle.
And that should do it. Complete the remaining castles if you haven't already and defeat the boss in Urzon Citadel. You will know if you were successful upon seeing an ending unique to this type of playthrough. The achievement pops at the start of the credit roll.

@Neverreadyfries I think I MAY have just completed a perfect or near-perfect run for becoming evil with the least number of steps, while still providing the most "good" options for afterwards (e.g. collecting the Holy Light spell before becoming evil so as to get the good outcome in Possessed Husband, sparing the Paimon-husband at the start and speaking to Lillian before flooding Arkos meant I could return to fight True Paimon, playing all in one run so as to not corrupt any shrines). Not going to go through everything in detail, but I will note that, upon completing every other possible good quest/decision, I was able to obtain and complete the "Saving Wilfred" quest from the sergeant in the Arkos garrison. However, completing that quest did not unlock any further garrison quests. It's possible I may have messed up somewhere - if the choices have different moral "weights", there may be some perfect combination that just barely ekes you over the line to allow for the evil transformation while still allowing further garrison quests, but that would require a lot more experimenting (or code investigation) than I'm about to put into it.

Thank you! Worked like a charm!

I have the definitive solution for this achievement - this table:
I tried it and it works flawlessly. Basically to trigger the quest of the first ritual in Arkos (thanks to that quest you will become evil) you must reach -15 Karma points. After the ritual, you reach -25 points, and then you must become good by getting positive Karma points. When you are over 0, you will become Good again and you will get this achievement after killing Belphegor by destroying the five seals.
Follow the "Redemption Ending" checklist and you will be at +3 Karma points before the last two palaces. If you have done all correctly, in the Kadjanto stronghold you will find Holy Light instead of Hellfire.
I will write down the checklist if the links stop working (or you can't see pictures) and I will add some notes - inside the brakers you can see the karma gained or lost by doing that action and the total Karma that you have:
- Help the villager at the beginning of the game (+1 / 1 Karma)
- Pick up the brigand on the bridge quest inside the garrison in Darsov
- Pick up the barn quest inside the garrison in Darsov
- Pick up the skeleton knight inside the inn in Darsov
- Finish the Valeshire Keep
- Finish the Combbelton Necropolis
- Pick up the quest to destroy the holy tome from the vagabond camp and do it (when I got the achievement I didn't report it) (-3 / -2 Karma)
- Spare the brigand on the bridge (when I got the achievement I didn't report it) (-4 / -6 Karma)
- Burn Darsov with Thunderstorm (it's not expressly specified, but you must do it WITHOUT getting the quest) (-2 / -8 Karma)
- Burn Arkos with Thunderstorm (it's not expressly specified, but you must do it WITHOUT getting the quest) (-2 / -10 Karma)
- Flood Arkos WITHOUT speaking to the quest giver (-5 / -15 Karma)
- Speak to Philip to unlock the first hideout
- Pick up the kill Hans quest
- Speak to the leader and do the first ritual by kidnapping Jarvis with teleport (-10 / -25 Karma)
- Clear the Stormheim Castle
- Donate 25g to the poor inside the church in Darson (+1 / -24 Karma)
- Do the skeleton knight quest (when I got the achievement I reported it) (+2 / -22 Karma)
- Do the barn quest (when I got the achievement I reported it) (+2 / -20 Karma)
- Go to the quest giver that ask you to burn the villages and choose "Never" as answer (note: it's at Shores Of Upel, go right at the shrine) (+5 / -15 Karma)
- Go the the vagabond camp and choose to "Expel" them (when I got the achievement I reported it) (+3 / -12 Karma)
- Exorcise the priest inside the church in Darsov (after the third palace exit to left from Darsov and you will find the quest giver - remember that for "exorcise" you need Gregor, that you can find after killing the werewolf boss in Tohan Passage) (+3 / -9 Karma)
- Spare Hans in Darsov (when I got the achievement I DIDN'T reported it) (+4 / -5 Karma)
- Kill Remus (and presumibly his big friend Brutus that you will find on your way out toward Kadjanto Stronghold) (the quest giver is in the little house after the one of the mayor in Kastki) (when I got the achievement I reported it and I also killed the other skeleton) (+4 / -1 Karma)
- Do the nightmare quest in Kastki by bringing the elixir to the man that cannot sleep (when I got the achievement I reported it) (+4 / 3 Karma)
- Clear the Kastka palace
- Clear the Kadjant Stronghold (inside you will find the Holy Light if you have done everything correctly)
Just to be sure, in my playthrough, I also cured the possessed husband in Darson (it's another +3 easy karma, bringing you Karma total to 6). Now finish the game and you will see a new ending and get this achievement.
Another note: apparently, the demon in the cage event is NOT linked to any Karma event. Just to be sure, I skipped it entirely.

So are you actually able to get the ritual summon quest (act that turns you evil) without killing Hans first? Did a run from a different guide which had no mention of Hans and the ritual summon quest was not available to me until I killed Hans. Guessing this has something to do with an exact amounts of good/bad points from other actions?

The current guide didn't work for me at all, and by falling back on this one, https://www.riotbits.com/infernax-how-to-get-the-redemption-...
I got the achievement on the first try.
Don't forget to activate cheat codes, specially invincibility and infinite double jumps.

Redemption Ending Guide:
Help PAIMON, the villager who turns into a monster.
COMPLETE all five castles, without activating or following any of the side activities. Just complete the castles and collect everything that helps you on your adventure. Especially teleportation magic, which will allow you to speed up the process.
Now activate the secondary ones in DARSOV, both one of the guards that are in the base, and the one of Josephine in the INN.
COMPLETE the barn secondary, but when you exit the building, use lightning magic to set it on fire. Do not go to the guard to communicate the end of the mission yet.
Go to the area where the Hermitage lives, at the beginning of the game, and tell him that you will burn all the villages. Then, proceed to burn ALL the villages.
Go to the wanderers’ camp and accept the secondary activity of destroying the HOLY BOOK. Then go to the DARSOV church and destroy the book that is on the altar.
Go to Arkos and talk to Phillipe at the Inn for the password. Go to the cult hideout at the top of Arkos and give them the password. Take on the sideline of killing handsome Hans. He also talks to the cult leader and accepts the mission to kill Jarvis. But DO NOT kill either of them…yet.
By this point, you will have done everything necessary to be “bad”. Now we must tip the scales to goodness: remove the skeleton that haunts Josephine in Darsov. Kill the bandits on the bridge, spare Handsome Hans’s life, and finally turn in the missions at the Darsov base.
Also, complete Michael’s quest in Kastki (world of dreams), and eliminate the skeleton that haunts Caroline in her mother’s house. Kick the bums out of the camp.
Go to Arkos and eliminate the man who asks you to destroy the dam. That should be enough for the soldiers at the Arkos base to ask you to save Wilfred and spy on the cult.
Said and done, go save Wilfred using a potion and return to the cult base on top of Arkos. Talk to the cult leader, then head back to the soldiers’ base on Arkos to deliver the good news.
Before finishing, go to the first house in Arkos to find Jarvis (the soldier with the halberd) and use teleportation magic to bring him to the cult and perform the initiation rite. You are now officially a member of the bad guys club.
Lastly, go to the castle whose entrance required you to destroy all five gems in order to enter and defeat the basic boss.

Yeah this works with a but, triggering the possession side quest will throw it off. You will need to do one additional evil, I let the bandit go on the bridge and several if not all goo action like under the stairs, freeing the mage in the cage and pretty much every other good action.
TLDR take care not to trigger the possession side quest when going for the 4th castle in the west.

I used this and it worked, with the addition of curing the posseded man under Darsov, I did trigger the possession quest with the monk but did not pursue it, also it wouldn't let me complete the spy quest from Arkos captain, I guess because Hans left Darsov prior to that quest trigger, but still worked for the achievement. Thanks

You must complete the game with positive morale in demon form (given as a reward for killing Jarvis).
(impact on morality) action
We do everything in strict order, since some quests are subject to moral restrictions. Initial morale value = 0.
(+1) Help Paimon
If you wish, go through 5 fortresses, buy a teleport and make a backup copy of your save to be able to rollback
Take all the quests in Darsov, but do not complete them, except for the sergeant's quest to deal with the robber on the bridge
(-4) We take a bribe from the robber on the bridge (at night)
(-4) We go to the cemetery, the location is on the right, take the quest in the house and DO NOT drive away the tramps
(-3) Immediately take the quest to destroy the Bible in Darsov Cathedral, destroy the book (at night)
Take the quest to save Paimon in Arkos
In Arkos we go to the bar and find out the password for the sectarians' shelter, go to the Tokhan Pass (morality requirement for the password ≤-8, morality at the moment -10)
(-8) We take the quest from the sectarians to eliminate Hans from Darsov. We kill Hans.
If desired, make a backup copy of the save for the " Cursed to crawl " trophy (current morale -18)
From the sectarians we take the quest to deliver Jarvis (we are not completing the quest yet) (IMPORTANT to take it right now - since the requirement for morale points to take the quest is ≤-13, the current morale is -18).
Next, we just increase morale (the order is not important BEFORE the Kajanto fortress):
Under no circumstances should we cast lightning in cities or on the farm, or destroy the dam (located to the left of the Stormheim Coast, in the location with the tavern)
(+3) In Arcos, in the upper right house there is a proposal to destroy the dam, the obligatory answer is NEVER
(+5) On the coast of Apel, in a house closer to the pier (during the day), they propose to burn the cities, the obligatory answer is NEVER
(+1) In the Darsov church we make a donation (under no circumstances destroy the chest with donations) (can be done after the exorcism of the demon)
(+3) Take on the quest to drive out the demon from the monk in the location to the left of the Darsov outpost. Under no circumstances do we kill the monk, but go east from Darsov and at night kill the werewolf who will open the passage to Gregor, talk with Gregor, and return.
(+2) We go to the farm and free it from zombies
(+2) Kill the red skeleton east of Darsov
We kill Mammon in the basement (optional, does not affect morality)
(+5) Resurrect and kill Paimon
(+4) Kastski - complete the quest "Dreams of the Underworld"
(+4) Kastski - take the task “Skeleton Next Door” and kill the skeleton Remus
We pass the Kajanto fortress, there we take the “Heavenly Light” spell (if we didn’t pass it at first). This spell only drops with positive morale (at the moment morale will be +11)
(+3) In Darsov we save the husband in the basement using the “Heavenly Light” ability
