In battle, JJ (as well as every eventual party member) has a basic attack. (JJ: Guitar Smash, Sam: Guitar Buster, Kaylee: Guitar Strike, Ru: Swords Slash). While these attacks don't hit very hard, they can be helpful when you need charge in a pinch. Use one of these attacks and follow the prompt: hold down 
and release it after ~95% to get a critical hit. You'll know you successfully pulled one off if after your "#### DMG" you see "CRITICAL". Do this 5 times to get this achievement, it should unlock immediately after firing off your fifth critical hit.
