Perfect Dodges are performed in a turn base battle when the enemy attacks. You just need to dodge the target that shows up when the enemy attacks by using

A perfect dodge is done in battle when you press 
just at the moment when an attack would hit you. On the enemy's turn, they will either use a targeted attack with a literal crosshair on the screen, or a beam attack that swoops across. Against either attack, you'll need to time your dodge just before the hit lands. You'll get the hang of it after a few attacks, and the beam attacks are extremely easy as you just jump through them. The targeted attacks tend to have different timings depending on the size of the crosshair, so those are a little more frustrating.
