How to unlock the Down to Earth achievement in Infinite Undiscovery - Definitive Guide

1. Level Aya's Raven Venom to level 2 (15 hits) or level 3 (22 hits). Level 1 is only 7 hits and will probably not be enough.
2. Take the recommended party: Capell, Aya, Vic (Butterfly Rush), Komachi (Thistle)
3. Go to the Bihar Mines floor in the Seraphic Gate. If you didn't know, you could just walk down without fighting.
4. Unequip weapons so you don't kill the mimic too fast. Set combat tactics to Focus.
5. Assign Raven Venom as Aya's connect skill. Connect to Aya.
6. Aggro the mimic, and back up to dodge breath attack. Hit Raven Venom as you do this (3.25 second cast time)
7. When breath attack is over, walk up and hit A,A,B (diminuendo dive). If you timed it right, the Raven Venom attack should land around the same time. You just need a handful of hits between you and the other two members to bring the combo to 20.
8. If you fail, sheath your weapon and try again.

I kept getting streaks of 17,18,19. As soon as I leveled Raven Venom to level 2, I got a 27 hit streak within 3 tries.

managed to get it in two tries with a raven venom still at lvl 1. only missed the first time because i completely screwed up the button combination to make everything happen at the right time.

that is an excellent party to use as well. as soon as the mimic woke up and i set the party to free, they went ballistic, the first try hit a 35+ ground combo almost instantly on accident.

I used Level 1 Raven Venom, Level 2 Butterfly Rush, Level 3 Thistle, and Level 3 Eternal Refrain. Tried getting the timing right and couldn't get over 18 the few times I tried it. I ended up just going at it on Free and got a 21-hit, 20-hit, and another 20-hit down combo the first kill, along with a 300+ hit aerial combo. I was level 255 on infinity mode, so no worries about leveling too high for this, at least on infinity.

Thanks for providing this recommendation! Other character combos listed elsewhere did not work for me, because they killed the mimic too quickly even without weapons.

You level battle skills up by using them with X or Y after connecting with another party member using RB.

Best place to level up Aya's Raven Venom to level 2 is at the Oradian Mountains, entering from Fayel. I did laps around the area right after you pass the first set of rolling boulders. The enemies respawn fairly quickly so you can keep hammering RV until it levels up.

---Similar to the above post, you need Capell, Aya, Komachi, and Vic.
---Have Raven Venom, Thistle, and Butterfly Rush set to both of their respective Battle Skill slots.
---Put Levantine Slash and Eternal Refrain on Capell.
---Go to Bihar Mines in the Seraphic Gate, at the end of the first room through a door on the right there is a Mimic. Before going in, unequip all weapons and set combat tactic to Combo (use the D-Pad to switch)
---Run in and use Levantine Slash. This will down the Mimic. Immediately use Eternal Refrain-Your team will use their skills. If it gets up, use Levantine Slash again.
---The Mimic should have enough health for you to try it about 4 times before killing it (with weapons unequipped.) It was my second or third combo on my first try when I got this

For this achievement you need to execute a 20-hit down combo.

Party:
  • Capell – Set Slashing Cannon to the button and Eternal Refrain to the button.
  • Aya – Set Snipe Arrow to both the and the button.
  • Vic – Set Butterfly Rush to both the and the button.
  • Komachi – Set Thistle to both the and button.

Now set your party to “Focus” and unequip all of your weapons, by doing this you will minimize the damage you cause to the enemy allowing you more time to get the combo.

Strategy:
Once you have completed the game, load the end game save and head to the teleporter in Kolton Palace, this will take you to the Seraphic Gate, keep going through this area until you teleport into the Bihar Mines. Now just up ahead are a group of Lumpers kill them and continue on, just before the elevator there will be a door on your right. Inside this room is a Gold Chest Mimic.

Once all your skills are set attack the mimic with a Slashing Cannon to knock it to the ground then attack with Eternal Refrain. At the same time your team mates will attack with their Skills. You can also connect to one of your team mates if you want to trigger a Skill yourself.

Since this strategy relies heavily on the AI to attack at the right moment. A significant amount of luck is required. However keep trying and you should get it within a few attempts.

Note: The above strategy is intended for Normal or higher difficulties; if you are playing on Easy you can use the Jewelled Cabinet Mimic in the Bihar Mines in the same way.
