How to unlock the For the Children achievement in Infinite Undiscovery - Definitive Guide

The following guide comes from xbox360achievement.org's guide for Infinite Undiscovery, any deviations to this solution are my own.

This achievement is story related and the attempt cannot be missed. This achievement event occurs immediately after you escort the unblessed across the dunes.

The child this achievement is referring to is Leif, who is surrounded by three “Swamp Serpents” and a “Narbear”. You will start this achievement just after reaching the safe point during the “Guardian” achievement.

This one can be tricky and has a degree of luck to it, but basically you want to attack the enemies to keep their attention on you, start with the snake on the right using “Cutting Gavotte” (Battle Skill) as this will keep it in the air whilst you and Aya attack it, once it is dead move to the two snakes on the left. If the snakes get close together use “Dancing Rhapsody” (), you should be able to hit them all with this attack, keep attacking until they are all dead. Then focus on the bear until it is dead.

I had my party set to “Focus” for this fight so that Aya would focus on what I was attacking, this way I could kill the snakes faster. Try wherever possible to fight away from Leif so that he doesn’t get caught in the crossfire, and block the snake’s route to him when you are fighting them.

Note: I found that the snakes would often go straight for Leif, whilst the bear would attack my characters, so focus on the snakes before going for the bear. Also despite what Aya says it is impossible for you to hurt Leif.

Once you have defeated the bear and the three snakes, Leif will be grabbed by a “Garuda”; you will now have a time limit before it flies away with Leif, which will cause a Game Over screen. To unlock the achievement you most connect to Aya and use her “Ravaging Raptor” skill to shoot the “Garuda”, it will then drop Leif and the achievement will unlock.

This achievement is likely to take several attempts.

Gonna assume done on Easy? On normal, this is pretty hard. Suggest you lvl grind a bit as well, that way your attack is high.

Yeah. You know what I've done for this game? I started a new easy session to clean up on some of these achievements. This one and the saving the guards from the castle were super hard on normal.

On this point of the game you can also create a better sword for capell with a- and b-voucher. This helps a lot.

Setting Aya's A+B skills to 'sparrowrain' helped me out a lot with 'Free' tactics.

Man I'm level 17/16 and I still can't fucking do this. This achievement is trash. Well, mainly that dumbass, Satan-worshiping bear that keeps knocking me in the air or just ruining my mood in general.

I had to actually do an easy run for this achievement. I was having the worst luck on normal. It took a few tries but I got lucky on easy and got it.

Honestly, I couldn't say how much the guide helped considering it is indeed pretty much based on luck, but it did to some degree. If you go for the snake on the left first, make sure to kill it asap, and then run over to the two on the left, and try to hit them both at the same time when they're close enough together. After that, keep away from the kid just to make sure the bear doesn't randomly run into him. Also, I didn't have Dancing Rhapsody.

You can do Dancing Rhapsody right from the beginning of the game. You just have to press the right buttons, dude.

Dropkick Ninja's guide is excellent and it helped when I did this for a friend, (missed it on my normal playthrough).

Although something helpful to consider if wishing to achieve this on any difficulty is the handiness of the free DLC vouchers.

As soon as Edward becomes available in Castle Prevant you're able to forge level 6 Blacksmith IC weapons and armor, making the game extremely easy for a sustained proportion.

Make Bronze Scale Greaves to begin with until around level 3/4 and then move onto making Bronze Plate Greaves. Each Bronze Plate Greave sells for 4000 which doesn't seem much, but they only cost 400 to make.

Using this method, each batch of 99 you make you'll gain a profit of around 380000. A reasonable amount of money, enough to easily make Capell the best upgrade IC gear. With this equipment enemies should fall like flies and the enemies required to be defeated in this video should only take a few hits, instead of the larger amount they may have previously.
