How to unlock the Squirrel Wrangler achievement in Inscryption - Definitive Guide
While Squirrels are not meant to attack (given their 0 attack power), they can be buffed if next to a card with the Leader sigil, which grants +1 power to any card to it's immediate left and right on the board. Alpha Wolf is one such card with this sigil.
All you have to do is make sure the buffed Squirrel is able to attack on the turn you win the round. It doesn't need to deal the killing blow, or be the only card attacking. So long as it is part of the final attack, you'll unlock the achievement. For example, my Squirrel attacked when two of my other cards did as well, resulting in overkill damage, and I still got the achievement.
Edit: Another method per LadyMagritte:

Was able to get this using a squirrel-headed wood carver base with the Fledgling Sigil on it. The sigil allows a Squirrel to grow into an Elder Squirrel, after one turn, and then it has 1 Attack/ 3 Health.

I'm sure Amalgams work as well, as they're part squirrel

Amalgams never worked for me for some reason. Based on the percentage of unlocks, they have worked for some.

To unlock this achievement, you have to have a squirrel totem that modifies your squirrels to do damage. They do not have to be the only source of damage for this achievement.
This is easier to coordinate in Act I and if you have already completed the four tile puzzles and received the Squirrel totem head (See Uncage the Menagerie ) You would also need to be in at least your fourth attempt through Act I and have access to the Woodcarver NPC.
The other way to make this work (without using the Squirrel totem) is to position a Squirrel next to an Alpha or any other card with the Leader Sigil (illustration below) for the final set of hits in a card battle. Alpha will give any adjacent card on its left or right an extra attack point, so you want to make sure that the Squirrel is in attack mode when the final set of winning hits are dealt
For an easier time, get a Squirrel Totem with one of the below Sigils and only use Squirrels for the final set of hits:

- Fledgling (second turn will give the Squirrel an attack point)
- Leader
- Touch of Death + Leader Sigil from an Alpha card (other wise the Squirrel will not attack)
- Sharp Quills (only works against Waterbourne or other card that would not take the retaliating hit directly)
This is obtainable in Kaycee's Mod using a Squirrel + Alpha/Leader Sigil card, so that option is still available to you post-game if things line up for you. Because there is no Squirrel Totem in Kaycee's Mod, I still believe Act I is the best way to approach this trophy, but there are plenty of opportunities after Act I if you still need it.
The Amalgam card, which has a bit of all six tribes (Canine, Birds, Hooved, Reptiles, Insects and Squirrels) in its DNA, can also win this trophy for you. With a Power of 3 and Health of 3, it is a good alternative. Just make sure you use it for the final blow in a battle and it will take the place of a Squirrel for this purpose
A video guide for this trophy can be seen in the Role Reversal guide.

Use the Alpha Wolf card and place a squirrel nearby (or better yet, several)

Performed either in Act 1 of the main game or in the Mod Case. It is enough to win the intermediate battle by strengthening the squirrel with the skill of the “Leader” card (the symbol looks like a paw with two side arrows)
