Devil's Play

Devil's Play

Attack for over 666 damage in the Original Inscryption.

How to unlock the Devil's Play achievement in Inscryption - Definitive Guide

This can easily be done in Act 2.

For starters, you'll need 4 cards: Energy Conduit, any Green Gem providing card, Stim Mage, and any Conduit (ex. Null Conduit). Stim Mage can be bought in the bottom left shop and Energy Conduit can be bought in the top left shop.

Go to the 2nd floor in the bottom left area and battle the Training Dummy. Draw the 4 cards above without attacking the Dummy and place them Left-to-Right in this order: Energy Conduit, any Green Gem providing card, Stim Mage, and any other Conduit (ex. Null Conduit). After that, hit the Y button on the Stim Mage until its attack is 667 or higher. Having exactly 666 attack will not work! The connected Energy Conduit will refill your energy infinitely as you increase Stim Mage's attack with its ability.

**Battling the Training Dummy right after beating the first boss is a great way to get Foils to buy all the cards you need as well as boosting the Ouroboros, which you can get in the top right shop, to help with the rest of the game!

Can confirm, this method works perfectly! Small time sync aside, it took me about 10 minutes of constantly mashing Y to get the Stim Mage above 666 - or the length of an average Tool song.

I’m so dumb. I didn’t noticed that it said OVER 666 damage. I attacked with exactly 666. I’ll have to do this again later. Thanks for the infinite damage combo lol.

So I've beaten the game once and unlocked Kaycee's mod, but I've come to realize I've missed about 3 achievements that appear to be only available in the "story" mode, but they're from Act 2 and Act 3. Am I understanding right that I need to restart story mode over from the beginning, work my way through first act and then proceed to the next acts to mop up the achievements? If that's the case, shouldn't these achievements be marked miss-able? Or am I missing some other functionality where I don't need to replay through the entire story?

This Achievement can only be obtained after beating Leshy.
This guide contains spoilers for the post-game of Inscryption.

From the Fandom (dot-com) Wiki for Inscryption:
(styling added by me for clarity and emphasis)
This achievement is tedious to obtain. Use the Energy Conduit and another Conduit to generate unlimited Energy, and use an Emerald Mox to play the Stim Mage, who can now be infinitely buffed. Don't bother to spam click the button, as it only registers the next click after the animation finishes. The Bone Lord's Horn and Bone Heap can replace the Stim Mage, but this is even more tiresome, since it requires repeatedly clicking both of them. Receiving this achievement will naturally give you an absurd amount of Foils, making it easier to get the achievement Collective Effort in the same run.
Summary:
1x Energy Conduit
1x Conduit (Any to complete the circuit)
1x Emerald Mox (or equivalent)
1x Stim Mage

It's easiest to do this at the
as it lets you setup without taking damage. It takes about 5-10 minutes to manually click the Stim Mage's power-up button due to the delay caused by the animation. The damage must be equal to or greater than 666 to unlock this achievement.

There really is only one good way to achieve 666 Power, but you have a few options if you really are struggling to find some of the below cards for the quickest, most optimal way of doing this.  Using the Dummy on the second floor of the Temple of Magicks is the only way to set this up, so head over to it when you have the below card combinations:
  • The optimal and easiest set up uses the following four cards - Stim Mage in between Energy Conduit and a secondary Conduit card (can be Null, Factory or Buff) and any card that gives a Green Mox (Bleene's Mox, Goranj's Mox, Emerald Mox or Mox Module card) set to the left so Stim Mage can charge to 666 and attack.
  • Just as effective, but requires a lot more moving cards around, is to place a Pharoh's Pet (costs 3 bones) and Ouroboros (retains level from Act I) down, remove the Ouroboros (you can use the hammer to remove without sacrificing) and repeat to 666. You can also add up to two Necromancers to boost this to three times each re-sacrifice. This can allow you to have three Ouroboros cards each at 222 and play them all at the same time for the same effect.
  • Bone Based cards (Gravedigger/Sporedigger + BoneHeap/Gourmage + Green Mox card) do not work effectively due to Starvation setting in after the deck runs out in 20 plays, so best to use Energy Conduit + Null/Factory/Buff Conduit with Bone Lord's Horn (See Dark Offering trophy_silver.png) + BoneHeap. It takes a LOT of clicks (1332 for the Bones needed from the Bone Lord's Horn, then 666 clicks for BoneHeap to get up to the Power needed at 2 Bones at a time) but it will work nearly after your fingers fall off after all the button mashing.
See the video below for a demonstration of all options, with the optimal route concluding with the trophy.

Knocked out with a pumped-up Ouroboros card through endless resurrections with the help of a goat and a necromancer in the second act of the game. It will also help you save money to purchase boosters.

Can be made using the Horn of the Bone Lord. It seemed faster to me. In addition, the Horn of the Lord of Bones will be needed to complete the trophy of collecting all the cards in the second act.

It is enough to strengthen Ouroboros to 222 damage and place 3 cards on the field so that they cause damage

in short: you need to have 3 cards and you need them all to be in your hand. necromancer, ouroboros, pharaoh's cabal (goat with 3 drops)
and you need to have 9 dice to lay out a necromancer and a goat.
Now, within ONE of our moves, we kill the goat, lay out the ouroboros, kill the ouroboros through the hammer. We lay out ouroboros, we beat ouroboros, we lay out, we kill. this needs to be done 125 times.
having 3 ouroboras with a strength of 250. lay out all three cards and press the bell.

BUT!!!! if you fight a boss, do it on your last life, otherwise it won’t drop (like mine)

Now the advice has been expanded, ouroboros can only be bought one in a pack from the goblin.
your deck should consist of goats, gravediggers, necromancers, and ouroboros itself.
First we lay out the gravediggers, wait for it to come into hand, then we lay out our cards.

how to get cards read advice about collecting the entire collection
