How to unlock the Painter's Servant achievement in Inscryption - Definitive Guide

The left side of the map in Act III brings in new game elements that broaden what you can do with your cards in a lot of fun ways. The bottom left area is related to Magnificus from Act II and involves adding the Mox gem mechanics to your Empty Vessels as well as cards in your main deck that can be fitted with Mox abilities

It would seem that allowing for these new mechanics into the gameplay was a bit much for P03, because when you get to the boss of this area, you will find it isn't ready for battle and you must design the boss yourself. You get to pick its look and the game rules for the fight. Unfortunately, there is no easy choices to make the boss battle trivial, but there are a few choices that seem better then other:
  • Every Time You play a card...
  • Every Time A card dies...
  • Every Time Your turn starts...
  • ...A random card takes 5 damage
  • ...I play a L33PB0T
  • ...One of my cards gains Nano Armor
  • ...All cards take 1 damage
  • ...A random card is played
  • ...You lose a life

If you're selection seems to give you an advatage, P03 may step in and make you choose a new rule before the round is over, so you may see some variance in the gameplay. Win the first round and you will add another rule using the above choices for the second half of the battle. Everything else plays out as normal and shouldn't be too difficult to complete. I found some of the rules made the game take a lot longer, but removed a lot of the challenge, as you can see in the linked video below:

Story related, can not be missed.

This takes place in Act 3. While you are not able to see the full map initially the map is the same as the Act 2 map. The Unfinished Boss is one of the uberbots. It is located in the bottom left corner, which is the same place where Magnificus and the Temple of Magic was located.

Phase 1:
You start the fight by picking a face for the boss. Then you have to create a rule for the match. You pick a Trigger then a Result:

Trigger:
  • Every time the turn starts
  • Every time a card is played
  • Every time a card dies
Result:
  • A random card takes 5 damage
  • One of my cards gets Nano Armor
  • I play a L33pb0t (0/2 mighty leap sigil)
  • All cards take 1 damage
  • A random card is played
  • You lose 1 life
As you can see crazy stuff could happen if you so choose. I would recommend something simple like Every time a turn starts, all cards take 1 damage. That way its not that big of a deal and it hurts him as well. There is not anything tricky about what cards are played. Its more about working around the rule that is created.

Phase 2:
At the beginning of Phase 2 you are asked to pick a new rule for the next round. Nothing else changes.
