How to unlock the Rookie Mistake achievement in Inscryption - Definitive Guide

Kaycee's Mod unlocks after beating the game. Simply start a run of Kaycee's Mod, select a Challenge to apply, and play normally. From my research, a "Misplay" is literally a random occurrence while playing and isn't based on how well you play and you'll get it on the first or second run.

I got 17 misplays on my first run and no achievement.

Just complete challenges until the "misplays" counter reads as 10 or more at the end. This is not really within your control as this statistic isn't actually a reflection of your plays and is generated somewhat randomly throughout the challenge. Its inclusion in the stats at the end is to troll you. You'll likely get this on your first try.

The number of Misplays you have in a Kaycee's Mod run is an arbitrary number and not a critique of your gameplay. Much like the likeness of the trophy icon, someone would be apt to accuse you during even the best played card battles of performing total misplays, so don't worry about this in the least.

At the end of every run (even failed attempts) you will receive a series of stats, the last claiming how many Misplays you commited. End a run with 10 or more claimed Misplays and you will receive this trophy.
